In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection - pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises, not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth - at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

As a mother of teenagers, I find my children often ungrateful and excessively demanding in their wishes. This will be a great listen for teens that think they have it hard when they live a life of luxury. They can see how abuse exists and hoe other kids can cope with horrendous living circumstances and still try and find something to remain grateful about. A+

In financial straits and on a sure path to spinsterhood, Venetia Milton thought her stay at the remote, ramshackle Arcane House, far from society's prying eyes, would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engineer her own ravishment. She was there to photograph the relics and artifacts collected by a highly secretive organization, founded two centuries earlier by an eccentric alchemist.

I love books that talk about special powers an abilities and so it's only natural that I liked this book immediately. I found it clever and the storyline was suspenseful a bit as well. So if you are in the mood for a historical romanced do consider this one. Again, keep in mind that this is a 4 and not a 5 star. So if in the mood for a 5 star, get a Laura Kinsale book instead.

As Reapers Motorcycle Club president, Reese "Picnic" Hayes has given his entire life to the club. After losing his wife, he knew he'd never love another woman. These days, Reese keeps his relationships free and easy-he definitely doesn't want to waste his time on a glorified cleaning lady like London Armstrong. Too bad he's completely obsessed with her.Besides running her own business, London has her junkie cousin's daughter to look after.

I LOVED book 3 with Em and was hoping to get the same in book 4 but I was disappointed a bit. There are a lot more thought repetitions in this book. More like page fillers that I find frustrating. I think had Joanna Wylde cut the mind babble in this book and shrunk it by 1/3 then this book could also have been great. I love how she changes the love scenes and make them unique per each story. So yes I was not taken by a surprise on this one but I still like her stories and can't wait for the next one in the series.

Yes I got this book on sale for 4.99 and it was enjoyable enough. A billionaire who falls for a hard to get waitress. Obviously predictable story and characters were likable enough but the story was so much of a cliche that I lost a bit of my enthusiasm as I read further. Although it was not a story that drew me in and kept me glued, I did enjoy reading it nevertheless.

The story started and I immediately thought oh no, will this be another 50 shades? The stories were similar in that they both have a rich and yes he was a bit damaged but that is where the similarities ended.

This book should have been listed under drama. After reading this book I was completely emotionally drained. Goodness I never thought the book would go into so much details about problems Elle had to deal with. I wish the book description was a bit more clear about what her secret was so that the readers can decide on their own if they would like to expose themselves to the mental anguish accompanying the storyline. I assume for those of us who have had a loved one go through something similar would find it especially hard to read this book. Oh and no I won't spoil the book by saying what that was. Sorry folks.

So overall, I liked the story if it had a bit less drama and constant push and pull between the two main characters and fighting.

Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger - a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he's The One. Or so she thinks.

Gosh I like the male lead character in this book. He is real and handsome and completely sexy. I wrote the following review for the 2nd book in the series by mistake but it was meant for this book.

I found the love story refreshing and the sex scenes were some of the most original I've seen and I've read hundreds of romance books, so that's something coming from me. One of the hottest scenes was the one involving handcuffs. I got so hot I thought I would expire on the spot. Phew.

The male characters are not the classiest bunch with the constant cussing and crude language but the story and love seems real and well expressed and written. I truly enjoyed this book.

The performance was absolutely wonderful but on it's own, it could not help elevate the storyline more. The love story did not get built up and characters were not interesting enough. I found myself desperate for a historical romance and decided to give this book a chance but perhaps I should have looked a bit more. It took me a record breaking week to complete this book when it usually takes me a day to two at the most so this should be a clue enough for reviewers.

Marie doesn't need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother's house one afternoon doesn't agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now. But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she's not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse - she doesn't know his real name or where he lives, she's ninety percent certain he's a criminal and that the "business" he talks with her brother isn't website design.

    Story

not great but good story, although a bit simple and slow for my taste. Men treat women as their "property" and then then Joanna Wylde continues to justify that by saying it's okay because all the other "old ladies" seem to be ok with it and especially since they do not look so slutty and in fact dress even decently. So I should be okay with it too. Stupid explanation if you ask me but then what do I know? To top this off, the bad ass "horse" whom yes, is hung like a horse as well, with all his male hotness and oozing sexuality is the one who keeps wanting to claim HER.....hmmmmm....veeeeery believable!!! Especially since Marie's character was not even that well known to him by the time he had picked out her vest. She was meek, quite, submissive behaving all to that point except when she actually grows a back bone for about 10 seconds to say she will not be his property. Oh true, but then about 5 seconds later she was okay with that notion. scratch the backbone comment because it doesn't count. She didn't have one.

This book was entertaining enough but I'll have to say it did not have me glued to it as some others have done in the past. I'll keep searching and maybe I'll find a motorcycle book that actually keeps my interest the entire time and is a page turner.
