Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

A NY Times reviewer said, "Comedy heaven.... This divinely funny, many-faceted novel...leaves convention behind”. All I can say is HUGH? Was the reviewer on the sauce or something stronger?

The daughter sounds like a spoiled two yr. old and not an intelligent 15 yr. old. Bernadette does not sound like a brilliant architect who managed to find a place to stay in Antarctica. In reality, they should have committed her. Only, dear old Dad sounds real, although not gallant. The premise was lame. In short, the book might be okay for papering a cage.

It MIGHT have been funny if written from Bernadette’s point of view but I doubt it.

After investing a lot of time into the series I believe the reader deserved more. Was the writer just burned out between the TV series and the books. We, the reader, deserved more.

Stunned by the loss of her infant son, the president’s wife hints he may have been murdered. Barrie sets out to find the truth, fighting for the exclusive story with the help of Gray Bondurant, a mysterious former presidential aide.

I keep hearing what a great author Sandra Brown is but I will not be picking up another one of her books in the near future if this is an example of her work.

It had lots of twists and turns but in the end was not realistic. There were also a LOT of unnecessary sex scenes. I ended up skimming a great deal of it and did not feel I missed a thing. In fact I should not have bothered finishing it.

Melanie Turner has made quite a name for herself remodeling historic houses in the San Francisco Bay Area. But now her reputation may be on the line. At her newest project, a run-down Pacific Heights mansion, Mel is visited by the ghost of a colleague who recently met a bad end with power tools. Mel hopes that by nailing the killer, she can rid herself of the ghostly presence of the murdered man - and not end up a construction casualty herself....

This is the start of a paranormal amateur sleuth series filled with ghosts, unknown villains, and a great heroine who works "in the trades". Loved the book and the author but there were too many characters and especially the investors because we did not know who they all were up front. I kept getting them mixed up and had to back peddle. However, that said and is why I gave it a four and not a five, I would recommend the book.

This is the seventh in the Enchanted Inc. series and I think the last. What a fun romp!!!!!!!!!!!

I said right along that this series has been a romantic comedy which is lighthearted, magical, and fun. In this book I have been proven MORE than correct. It could be named “On The Sidewalks of New York”. I think there was either a movie or song by that name.
All I can say once again is read and enjoy.

Now that the Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. team has defeated the nefarious Spellworks, the only "competition" in town, Katie Chandler doesn't have much to do as director of marketing, and she's starting to question her role at MSI. Her boyfriend Owen Palmer, on the other hand, is in hog heaven, translating an ancient and powerful magical manuscript. But then he finds that the cryptic text describing the location of an enchanted gem known as the Eye of the Moon has radically changed. This deadly stone gives its holder enhanced power over others and a craving for more power.

Keystone cops gone bad. It is one lone chase and became very old and very boring very quickly. The only thing good I can say about this book is that Granny is visiting Katie in NYC and she is a riot.

Enchanted Inc. is the third in the series from author Shanna Swendson. This is a fun chick series that is a mystery, an adventure, and a romantic comedy which is lighthearted, magical, and fun.

There are characters you'll love and remember. The heroin, Katie, is “completely ordinary” in a universe of magic. This is a good thing.

For adults the series is “Alice in Wonderland” and “Harry Potter” all rolled into one. It is a mystical romp and a fun escape. Read and enjoy.

A magical crime wave is sweeping the city and wizarding whiz Owen Palmer thinks the chaos-causing spells look awfully familiar - like something his arch-rival Phelan Idris would create. While Owen and the other wizards scramble to unravel the wicked spells, it's Katie's job as the new director of marketing for MSI to fight the battle of public perception.

Everything's bigger in Texas - including romance, magic, and danger! Katie Chandler has fled fast-paced Manhattan and returned home to a simpler life, working at her family's feed-and-seed store in Cobb, Texas. In a painfully selfless gesture, Katie had left the sexy wizard Owen Palmer to battle his demons in the magical realm–after all, Katie just seemed to attract evil, which only made Owen's job a lot harder.

Click your heels three times and say, "There's no place like Bloomies!" Katie Chandler's life is pure magic - literally. As an executive assistant at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., she's seen more than her share of fantastical occurrences. A mere Manhattan mortal, Katie is no wizard, but she's a wiz at exposing "hokum" pocus, cloaked lies, and deceptive enchantments. And she's fallen under the all-too-human spell of attraction to Owen, a hunky wizard and coworker. Owen, however, is preoccupied. Someone has broken into his office and disrupted top-secret files, and it reeks of an inside job.

Katie Chandler had always heard that New York is a weird and wonderful place, but this small-town Texas gal had no idea how weird until she moved there. Everywhere she goes, she sees something worth gawking at and Katie is afraid she's a little too normal to make a splash in the big city. Working for an ogre of a boss doesn't help. Then, seemingly out of the blue, Katie gets a job offer from Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., a company that tricks of the trade to the magic community. For MSI, Katie's ordinariness is an asset.
