Baltimore is a city in alarming distress. Rising violence is fanning the flames of public outrage. Thus the FBI’s latest ideas to improve public relations: a municipal softball league and workshops for community leaders. But the new commitments just mean more time Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have to spend apart when they’re happily exploring how to be more than by-the-book partners. Then the latest spate of crime explodes in their faces—literally.

Where does Divide and Conquer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the Top 3 so Far with "Something Like Summer" by Jay Bell and "Hot Head" by Damon Suede.

What other book might you compare Divide and Conquer to and why?

    The closest is "Hot Head".

Which character – as performed by Sean Crisden – was your favorite?

    Ty stole the show here.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene where the temporarily blind Zane was eavesdropping on the conversation between Ty and Nick downstairs. I was at the edge of my seat feeling what Zane must have felt regarding the true nature of Ty's and Nick's relationship. This is where I started to realize that Nick could be a threat.

Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are back on the job, settled into a personal and professional relationship built on fierce protectiveness and blistering passion. Now they’re assigned to impersonate two members of an international smuggling ring—an out-and-proud married couple—on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean.

What made the experience of listening to Fish & Chips the most enjoyable?

Reading this 3rd book of the series is like a vacation, a break from the intensity of the preceding books. It gave the chance for the two protagonists to really have more time with each other and enjoy one other during a cruise. What's more romantic than that?

What other book might you compare Fish & Chips to and why?

None. But I could say, it's like "Charlie's Angels" on a "Love Boat".

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

My only disappointment is the replacement of Sawyer Allende by Sean Crisden. Mr. Allende was perfect for the voices of Ty and Zane. Sean's depiction of Zane is most irritating by using a radio announcer's modulated voice. It wasn't very natural since. It wasn't a conversational voice.

If you could take any character from Fish & Chips out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I would take Ty. He could be a handful though but I knew I would be safe and protected. And I'm positive, I would like to receive some of that flirtation.

    Any additional comments?

AGAIN, why replace a very good narrator?

Six months after nearly losing their lives to a serial killer in New York City, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are suffering through something almost as frightening: the monotony of desk duty. When they're ordered to take a vacation for the good of everyone's sanity, Ty bites the bullet and takes Zane home with him to West Virginia, hoping the peace and quiet of the mountains will give them the chance to explore the explosive attraction they’ve so far been unable to reconcile with their professional partnership.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I wouldn't recommend if he didn't want to fall in love with the characters and get addicted to the series. I would tell him to start with the first book. This 3rd installment is an introduction to Ty's family, the idiosyncrasies of its members and explains how Ty grew up to the person he was. This is the book where they finally accepted the reality of how much they mean to each other.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love both Zane and Ty but my favorite parts were the psychoanalysis of Zane by Deuce .

Which character – as performed by Sawyer Allerde – was your favorite?

He got Ty pretty much as I imagined the character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Ty finally thought to himself that he was in love with Zane.

    Any additional comments?

I was greatly disappointed that Sawyer Allerde didn't continue on narrating to the remainder of the series. I got used to his performance and he suited the character of Zane and Ty very well.

An erotic gay romance, a suspenseful thriller.... A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case. Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does.

Nick Addison has taken care of Hollister Welles since college. Though the responsible grad student and the uninhibited partier were total opposites, they had always shared an inexplicable bond. Nick knows he should stop saving the out-of-control Holly, but when Holly hits rock-bottom hard—and publicly—he can't resist coming to his rescue one last time. Can't resist the feeling of having Holly need him again.

Would you try another book from Anah Crow and Dianne Fox and/or Max Tatch?

I didn't have a problem with Max Tatch as the narrator. I would take a break from the books of the authors though but would give them another chance.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I downloaded the first book by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux.

What does Max Tatch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Max Tatch gave a satisfactory performance.

What character would you cut from One Real Thing?

    Danner

The most important things in Simon Murray’s life are football, friends, and film - in that order. His friends despair of him ever meeting someone, but despite his loneliness, Simon is cautious about looking for more. Then his best friends drag him to a party, where he barges into a football conversation and ends up defending the honour of star forward Declan Tyler - unaware that the athlete is present. In that first awkward meeting, neither man has any idea they will change each other's lives forever.

What disappointed you about Tigers and Devils?

The lead character being so annoying. He's a worry wart Debbie downer all through the story that I actually hoped that his jock of a footballer boyfriend leave him.

Would you recommend Tigers and Devils to your friends? Why or why not?

    Ummm, no.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator sounded as bored as I am especially during the dragging segments.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Anger.

Unfortunately, Dante is strictly a ladies’ man, and the FDNY isn’t exactly gay-friendly. For ten years, Griff has hidden his heart in a half-life of public heroics and private anguish. Griff’s caution and Dante’s cockiness make them an unbeatable team. To protect his buddy, there’s nothing Griff wouldn’t do… until a nearly bankrupt Dante proposes the worst possible solution: HotHead.com, a gay porn website where uniformed hunks get down and dirty.

Would you consider the audio edition of Hot Head to be better than the print version?

The audio edition is better because of Charlie David's performance. His voice is a good fit with the characters and he's able to speak the different accents, from Jersey to Russian.

What other book might you compare Hot Head to and why?

Although they're of different milieu, but as of quality, I would rank it among the top of my favorite books with "Something Like Summer" by Jay Bell.

Which character – as performed by Charlie David – was your favorite?

Dante has this loud, and expressive character yet vulnerable. He's my favorite character as performed by Charlie David.

Who was the most memorable character of Hot Head and why?

I love the giant redhead, Griff's quiet strength. And who would not be turned on by the description of his anatomy?

    Any additional comments?

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn't expecting much because of the title "Hot Head". I found it tacky but after finishing the book, I see why it was named as such.

Jake Owens, aggressive, physical, blunt and brave, is a football hero turned city cop. Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever, is thoughtful, quiet, and kind, a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and that Jake is the love of his life - and loyal, courageous, straight Jake has never had a clue. But Jake has been nursing his own case of the unrequiteds, and he’s never been as straight as Nate assumes. Nate may think their passionate explosion is a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long, but Jake is bound and determined to prove to him otherwise.

What would have made Where He Ends and I Begin better?

It's about the main characters in bed or in the showers half the time. Less sex and more story would have made this novel passable. Telling the POV's of both characters is not necessary and dragged the story.

Has Where He Ends and I Begin turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I've read enough good novels not to base my opinion of this genre from this book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Jake was undercover and not returning Nate's call but it turned out to be a dud too.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Where He Ends and I Begin?

I would have just told the story from Nate's point of view, leaving the viewer thinking and guessing about Jake's thoughts and intentions. Would he go back to women? Is he just playing Nate? Etc.

    Any additional comments?

The book started with a blowjob. The quarry is caught. There's no more chase. Just boring repetitive sex followed.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, although not as satisfying as "Promises", I still enjoyed it. Too much sex and less of the "chase" for my taste. And I can't fall in love with Angelo's character. I found him to be mean at times.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

A little less sex and more romance would have made it more enjoyable. The fact that the main characters have already accepted their gay identities made the "chase" or "hunt" less challenging.

What about Mark L. Jones’s performance did you like?

I like Mark L. Jones' performance in "Promises" and I like it in this audio book too. He has vulnerability in his voice. I enjoyed the story more because of his narration. He can improve on the delineation of the characters' voices. Sometimes it's hard to discern who's actually talking.

Could you see A to Z being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

If it were made into a movie, it would be an x-rated with too many graphic sex scenes in it. I would definitely watch it though. I would think Colby Keller as Zach and any dark skinned gay porn star as Angelo would do.

    Any additional comments?

I'm pleased to hear about Jared and Matt again from "Promises".
