Women are taught, at a very early age, how to stay in relationships. They know how to connect interpersonally. Men, on the other hand, are taught, at an early age, how to get into relationships... and that's it. That is all they know.
As a guy, I have recommended this book to every single woman I know. It is painful, but it is the truth. If you want to know what goes through a guy's mind (or what isn't going through it) listen to this book.
This is my first Sedaris book. This is one of the funniest works I have listened to on Audible; even funnier than Al Franken. It is thoughtful and quick witted. I must agree that the live audience chapters are the best. I recommend this book without reservation.
I asked myself two questions while reading these reviews. 1) Why is this book on Audible's "Most Downloaded List" if it sucks so badly? I think it is because of its intriguing title. 2) Why did these reviewers, who seem to be pretty good at communicating their point, have the need to download it in the first place? Maybe they were just curious. I was going to download it out of pure interest. After reading the reviews, I realize it would have been a big mistake. I feel sorry for the Audible members who need help with conversation and downloaded this title for valuable advice. I say give them a refund!
