I loved this fourth installment of The Walk series and can't wait for the next one, which I imagine will be the end of the series. The characters he meets along the way are my favorite part of the stories.
I strongly suggest starting with the first book The Walk and hearing them all in order. By the time you reach this one, Step of Faith, the characters will be like old friends.
I could not stop until I reached the end.
The author is magnificent. Great stories with hidden meanings which speak to everyone.
This is not the type of book I usually read but I have to say how much I loved it.I am inspired by Liz's story and it is a great reminder that it is possible to overcome great odds with resolve and dedication. Knowing it is a true story, I feel great admiration and affection for the author. Her childhood was so awful and yet she retained compassion for those who neglected her most. The journey to Harvard was long and painful but still she persevered. I recommend this book to anyone who needs inspiration or would enjoy a truly uplifting story. Once I started it I could not stop.
The journey from a despicable childhood to successful adult.
Liz, of course!
Her caring and affection for the parents she loved in spite of their weaknesses, illnesses and neglect.
Though I usually do not think authors make the best narrators, in this case it was perfect.
From the first paragraph I literally could not put this down. I listened to it driving, working, relaxing. What an awesome book!
I loved the narrator. Pleasing voice, just enough inflection without overdoing it.
I think it is a good car-travel book. Not a steering wheel gripper, but definitely enjoyable.
The story ending is unpredictable right up to the end. Every time I thought I had it figured out, new information came to light, turning my theory upside down.
Absolutely. Throughout the book, the question is "who did it?" And the information is doled out in just the right doses to keep you on edge.
They made a good team. Both did a great job and complimented each other.
Actually, this would be a great movie. So many twists and turns to the story. I would call it a "cliffhanger" right up to the final chapter.
I listen to audiobooks in my car, and with this book, I would often arrive at my destination and stay in my car to hear more. It is a VERY good and entertaining audiobook.
I have to say this book is quite disturbing........and I put it in the same category as Hunger Games. Though it bothered me a lot to listen to it, I could not stop. It roped me in right away and I was compelled to listen to the end. For that reason I gave it 4 stars.
The continuing drama and unpredictability of the story.
Easy to listen to. Appropriate voice for the story.
It was continually horrifying.
If you are looking for a book that you can't put down, this one is for you. I listen to audiobooks in my car, and this one definitely makes the driving time pass quickly.
