"slow, not believable"
To use some ages from another reviewer of this book, I think that this book was meant for either 10 year olds or 80 year olds, but nothing in between. It is very evident that this book was written in 1962.
"Slow"
In all my years on audible this was by far the slowest book I have ever listened to. I am a big fan of the vampire genre so that made this even more of a disappointment. I felt like I was back in school and the prof was trying to ram a boring lesson down my throat.
"Slow, slow, slow......"
I read and enjoyed the first 2 books of the series and was looking forward to reading them all. After this one, I am stopping. This book could not have been any slower. It was like listening to a 100 year old man tell a story, going off on countless tangents that serve no purpose to the main story. Every time they enter a town do we really need to know what colour their shoes, socks, hats, and undergarments are? Dow we really care what kind of exports they have and why their fishery dried up 80 years ago? I kept waiting for these pointless observations to have meaning later and they did not. This story was 4 hours of average content surrounded by over 20 hours of filler. Very disappointing.
"Unneccessary filler"
I have read every book in the series and am currently on the last one, but this one was BY FAR the worst. It was so unneccessary. By the end I felt like King was just putting in words to fill the pages to make a sale on another book. (that he knows anyone reading the series would have to buy) Don't expect ANY action in this ENTIRE book, very slow and absolutely meaningless.
"Best I've ever read"
This book was action from beginning to end it was by far the best book I've EVER listened to. It has spoiled me for all other books.
