Compassion, Action and Emotion! You can't help but feel for Kaylan and his background
So I would recommend the story as I am enjoying the series and really connected with Kaylan. But honestly I was not with his mate. Mac was just annoying and must suck as a psychiatrist. She just did not seem to understand Kaylan or what he needed. In every instance of his bad incidents she was the cause. Oh we'll it was a great story minus the self involve woman.... How could she let everyone but him know about her issue with their relationship
Very nice really brought out the characters
You think your family is disfunctional....Try mine
This book was okay I guess it's just kind of blah it was the narrator of the story itself. Vampires were weak... Centuries of living and they get for taken down by inferior beings. The main characters relationship seemed forced and somewhat out of place. I had a hard time believing they were in love. The narrator seemed off some how not sure if the story would have been better read instead or listening. The story line interested me but the characters and relationships not evolved. No interest in the series.
Cliffhangers suck, this was not cool. It is as though we're made to pay more. I like this author and am choosing to the this was a publisher thing.
The storyline is hard for me as I don't understand Autism nor do I understand extreme naivety. This "girl", is virgin at 20 but sees a guy and is ready for intimacy... Not to mention with a guy whom emotional is old enough to be her father and is into BDSM.
I like the book weakness just bothers me though the book hints to this girl being able to handle herself I am not seeing it from the first installment. She seems like a baby playing a being a grown women who finds a daddy replacement in the man she's chosen.
This book was very good. It kept you on your seat wondering what was going on with the Archer. I've never really read a historical PNR... This was very exciting and different than your typical shifter/demon/vamp story. While this story is series there wasn't and cliffhanger or unanswered questions. Waiting for the next installment.
I don't think you can save the book is good. The story is hard to read for me because one typically does not think of those who break the law as being good.
Well it's hard for me to be relate to the world of MC, I will say that they intrigue me. This is one of the rougher ones that I've read but the story was well written, well told and kept me captivated.
The brutality and betrayal was really hard for me to read about. MC fathers and mothers ("Old Ladies") whom raise children in these types of clubs always leaves me wondering what the hell they're thinking. But then I guess these clubs are type of family unit and almost like a religion. At least it seems like in the way that the books are told, and hey.... some religious teachings are hard for me to understand.
But I think why I keep coming back to these types of books is due to the intensity and passion that MC men seem to have in their relationships with their "Old Ladies", they are very alpha male in primal almost like the PNR books I read. In the end what can I say I am such a sucker for good powerful romance.
I couldn't take it less than 20 minutes into the book. Alright this chick is dumb! She knocks over a Ming vase and tries to hide it like nobody's going to notice extremely expensive artifact. then idiotically she runs from one person trying to help her from demons and everything else that doesn't make sense. Then is thinks they should get the police to help as though she's not to be put in the freaking insane asylum.
The characters just too stupid for me, I actually really feel bad for Dante what would you ever fall for a woman that idiotic.
I want my money and my credits back
Good story will clean wholesome romance. The story was predictable but in the way a book lover enjoys.
I think I enjoyed reading about the orphan kids more than anything else and their relationship with Kat and Charles.
The book felt more like a contemporary romance rather than a good PNR. The narration was fine but I think the audio editing was poor I kept hearing echoes
This book was just delicious I loved it....I was a little leery considering the multiple husbands but I think author did a very good job.
The love scenes were wonderfully erotic but well place in the storyline. this is important to stay because I am always with the whole male/male thing it's not necessarily my thing. But again it actually fits with the storyline considering there on a planet that is male-dominated that the females of their races are so scarce so it makes sense that you would have relationships the way the author set them up.
I also love that more more authors are showing that diversity actually does exist even in fairytales. So if we get invaded by an alien planet and need to provide brides the a warrior race of males, the brides are going to be all kinds of shapes, colors and nationalities and not simply perfect Barbie doll girls.
I would say my negative is the characters are so young the males are 200 and 300 years old sometimes even older so to have them bonded to women who were barely 21 does not seem to be very realistic. I think the story would be more involved more in depth with older female characters hopefully the series will have some.
I enjoyed the story and the slow romance though that was not the main topic. I did have trouble understanding how these two seemed a little slow on the up take of the investigation. I understand it was their first case but how naive can one be when the studied for 10 years.
They are legal magic users trained by the coalition to up hold the magic laws. For which they are trained from teenagers. To me they still seemed too young to be on assignment together. One would think the coalition would assign a rookie and expert together on first assignments. Both of characters stumble their way threw the investigation and cut many cuts and bruises as a result.
I love Kresley Cole particularly this series. While I trial enjoyed Trehen I must says I was very disappointed with Bettina. She was very weak, spoiled, bratty and too indecisive for me.
Most of Kresley's female characters are strong warriors but have a vulnerability that keeps allows you to recognize femininity.
Bettina came off as just weak whom did not understand either her own feelings nor of those she claimed to love... Too selfish and naive to be a main character of the Lore
I love this author provides diverse women with strength .... Each character even the bad guys you tends to draw one in... I love this series
