Yes, there was really no chemistry between the hero and heroine. If mates are so scarce one would think the males would protect there mates better. Seriously how does a woman get kidnapped by wolves and humans every second.
No she has a good storyline e just very weak charaters
Narrator could have stayed in the same dialect through our the book. The mix between the southern drawl os the charaters and the British accent during the storyline three me off
Yes a bad B flick scary movie..... The one you say the entire time "don't go in there"
Book too expensive to have such a weak story.
I'm a must say I enjoyed the book. I first read this book a few years ago and decided to listen to the second time to refresh my memory. I really enjoyed Christine Feehan has an author, particularly in the dark Carpathian series.
Listening to this book somehow I made the book sappier then when I read it, not sure if it was the author or just my recollection of reading versus listening to the book.
I typically like my books to have a little bit of conflict in the relationship I like for the main characters to have to really work for the HEA. This book was just too goody two shoes I think. The main character was supposed to really good at all of this telepathy in supernatural kind of powers but she just seem to be whiny and needy to me.
I do like the concept of the series so I think I'll listen to the next book in the series. I'm hoping that the women will get a little tougher and the men in a little more cautious and hard-core on the relationship front.
I truly enjoyed this book it was very fun quick and witty. I must say that I'm enjoying reading more and more interracial romance that is not focused on the fact that the male is white and the female is black. Or the racial divide and all of the injustice.
Sometimes the authors are so focused on political and social issues that they forget that romance is colorless. The characters should be just two people trying to have a relationship that must face conflict and still try for the ever elusive HEA.
On a different note is near raider I just couldn't get down with the narrator as she made the main character Izzy sound like a flake. The voice you use for the female character just drove me nuts.
This book was so very good I can't even explain. I'm in tears right now. As a black women married happily to a white male this just touched my heart.
It is so very nice to read a story about a subject so close to my heart.
This read was hard from a racial stand and must have been set in the late eighties or early nineties based on the references of the Vietnam War.
So I imagine things were slightly harder for interracial couples. But the fundamental issues are still there and I love overcomes and remains colorblind
Oh my goodness that the book was so boring and so slow. It was also relatively predictable. The romance was not believable I did not feel any connection between the two main characters whatsoever.
This installment of the series also did not had that sexual tension or that sexual element of the first book. Not sure if I will continue.
The main characters to me just seemed really weak for vampire in an element witch.
I don't understand how the main male character goes from hating humans to falling in love with one and what to me thing like less than 48 hours whatever.
I have read every installment in this series. This one is very much refreshing. Most of Ashely's shifter books are romances that hit you and take over very instinctive. This book the main character are basically in an arranged mating.
This books show the strength of the shifters in their desire for family and connection but differently. These characters are simply in love. Despite what fate my have in store for them they are connected by true attraction and loyalty. Which for me trumps lighting strike love at first sight without knowledge of the mate chosen for you. I like being introduced to the new characters and LOVE being able to read about STRONG women. Kenzie is MY favorite in this book along with Ryan her son. Mostly because she is intense in her love but rationale understanding you must appreciate and fight for what is important.
Down side I truely wish that the shifter were a little more knowledgeable on the human world and reacted in a most controlled manner when in trouble. With all there strength the forget the cunning of human nature. That makes for situations that had me saying REALLY YOU DIDNT SEE THAT COMING. Bowman always acted cool and reserved in shifter situations then when the humans are in control he looses all sense of reality. Come on..
I enjoyed the book , nice spend on the elementals. This was the first book in the series and I must say I like the storyline and plot.
I will say that the elementals seem to be the badasses of this series rather than the shifters which is new for me. While this is NOT bad in general in this book they seemed somewhat weak and inconsequential. The entire book they wanted to or were running scared .
They where fine when ganging up on one sickly elemental 5 to 1 but had their tales tucked between the legs the rest of the time. The wolves were all a little too insecure for me and died a little to quickly. What is the point of being a shifter if one can trip and break their necks so easily.
The narration was not bad but just a little off putting the author made everyone sound whinny with a little too much wicked witch of the east inflection.
This book was awful..i'm not sure what the author was trying to do but this storyline makes no sense. Who in their right mind gets kidnapped from their planet and then falls madly in love with two people who buys them from the slave auction days later.
The narrator also sucked. I think one person commented that he sounded like he was narrating for a fairytale book. I would agree with that comment exactly he was way too chipper and excited for this book.
Another good book by Jennifer Ashley she's one of my favorite authors.
I love this shifter series. The concept of collaring shifters is actually pretty believable. Actually along the same lines as concentration camps. I'm really interested to see where this series is going to go I'm wondering if we are ever going to see the ship the community free without callers or if were going to see a or uprising of the shifter the community.
I like a strong heroin and that's with this but provided a very strong here when and a man whom wasn't afraid of a woman who may be stronger than him physically but still had feminine appeal.
Pretty good sci-fi very entertaining. I do think the author a little immature in her writing. The setting and background doesn't really read like aliens from another planet but more like aliens from another country.
Book couldn't honestly been a young girl down on her luck after maybe some urban war or conflict fighting in a specific country.
I need to have a badass shifters to really enjoy my story. The stories wow good were a little tame for me.
This author seems to like the romance more so than the sci-fi. I prefer a story with lots of sci-fi that gives me more of a build up my characters and has a romantic flair .
This book reads more like a novella so I would not spend full price money on a audio so short. I got this on sale very cheap so I decided why not.
