Yes, there was really no chemistry between the hero and heroine. If mates are so scarce one would think the males would protect there mates better. Seriously how does a woman get kidnapped by wolves and humans every second.
No she has a good storyline e just very weak charaters
Narrator could have stayed in the same dialect through our the book. The mix between the southern drawl os the charaters and the British accent during the storyline three me off
Yes a bad B flick scary movie..... The one you say the entire time "don't go in there"
Book too expensive to have such a weak story.
Weak women annoy me... I would think strength in the heroines would have been better. I understand the main character has Agoraphobia but really she was scared of everything. Her husband, sex, outdoors, having attention on her. Really that is a little too much timidity.
Perhaps, her books are cheap so when I don't want to spend more than $5 on a book. Really this book should have been free. Hopefuly the other books in the series will be better
not a bad narrator, just she should just pick up the pace. I put the speed on 1.25x
The Abduction... that was a little too predictable. So your are so much of an agoraphobic that you will sit in a closet while the house around you is on fire but you walk outside by yourself when a man supposedly kidnaps you sister. REALLY
Intense, Enlighten and Engrossing
I am truly enjoying the different turns and surprises. Though things are getting somewhat predictable, the storyline remains solid. Mac takes a licking and keeps on ticketing. I felt the most emotional when Mac was task to think of the Dryad race as a whole rather than individuals....Sometimes you just can't save everyone.
Alex and Sakia's renditions of his quotes and slang......."Mack-attack, Dude"
Mac continues to ignore her heritage to which is detrimental to the decisions she is making. Knowledge is power and the more she knows the better chance of a positive outcome of her choices.
This is a new author for me. I enjoy Sci-Fi and Fantasy romance genres and was looking desperately for a new series. I must say I was pleasantly surprise by this book. The storyline is a different take on the world of the Supernatural.
I truly enjoyed the "Coming to Enlightenment" tale created for Mac the main character. While her persona is somewhat young in her way of thinking, I can see the potential of growth as the series progresses.
Mac is an orphan in a pack of Shape Shifters, whom a first seems human but as you read through the story to get that she is not what she seems on the surface. Nor does Mac seem to really know what she is or is capable of doing with her power. She seems to have a bad temper and is a good butt kicker, even if she leaps before she looks. Hopeful she grows out of killing first and questioning later. I am looking forward to seeing if what type of relationship occurs with her and Corrigan the new "Lord Alpha" of the shifters.
There is just something about romantic comedy that puts one in the right frame of mind.
This book reminded me a little of Mary Balogh’s or Lisa Kleypas’ historical series though this book seem to be more comedic rather than the comic relief you get with Mary or Lisa’s books. The humor is just right and well placed
There were many but perhaps the scene where the Husband realizes his wife is meeting with his former "Lady Bugs (mistresses)"
The moments with Nick (the Earl's son) were very touching. It is not very many women who can open there hearts to their husbands illegitimate children particularly doing this era.
I was really anxious to learn more about the Female side of the Species. The author somewhat casts the females Species as having harden hearts and being cold. Not sure I understand why the males are portraited with being more sensitivty to the mating needs. Its almost if the females are casted in a negative light. It seems only the males are emotionally stable and open to relationships. I was glad to finally see the author show the needs and desires of a female.Very good storyline. I hope to see more about the women of the story.
Action, suspense and love.... This imbodies what a good story should contain. The heroine and hero of the story have a connection that you can feel and picture when listening to this book. Their relationship has truly grown of over the series with first conflict, then lust, then trust.... Just beautiful.
I love the Kate found herself, her own purpose and an internal power. She is without "The Beast Lord" in quite a bit of the story and is able to hold her own with the Pack. Key Pack members get to form a more complete picture if Kate and her morale character.
I believe my favorite senece is close to the end when Kate reveals her self to the People and the Pack. The amount of power she showed amazing but more touching is how Curran needed to be there for Kate to help her hold and balance her strength
It excited me and kept me captivated from beginning to end. I found myself a point cheering " Its Curran, its Curran. Just in the nick of time"
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. These are books I listen to over and over again.
Whitty females getting the best of the alpha males in their lives. Love the strength and bond the women have in this story. Not the normal smugness usally expected fo the "Gentle People" of this era.
This book reminded me of Lisa Kleypas, The Hathaways Series. The oddities that just make you laugh.
Lady Beatrice Davenham "The Aunt"; is the best and most favored charater.
This book had me in stitches ..... It made laugh so hard I was crying. This is a great pick me up.
Those who don't care about the story but prefer eroticism
Not really into the FF thing but I enjoy a good story. This storyline acts as though males are not necessary. But the females act like males physically. That makes no sense, females reproducing with females is the author just trying a little to hard to make the f/f mates work naturally.
So I may be a little too harsh but, I can help thinking Dr. Allison has mental issues and was a litte too desparate. I did not feel the emotional connection between her and Obsidian. In fact I found myself thinking she was a manipulative stocker..weak, needy and irrational.
There was something just off. The heronine professed wanting what was best for her "mate" but she was really irrational him learning to fit in with the other species.
A species right out of the lab is almost child-like, learning how to living in a world of humans. She wanted Obsidian to be dependant on her and did not think about his state of mind. She is a Dr who falls in love with a comatos patient.Rather than acting the adult and using her medical knowledge to aid her or maybe calling Tricia (her boss) about his health, she steals him and trys to heal him by letting her scent him? This was after she wanted to make a female species first be the a guinea pig.....
The whole story reminded me of school room teacher trying to convience her adolesent student to love her..... Just inappropriate
Yes, while here voices can be harsh she does a prretty good job
The story flow seemed to be in conflict on one hand Dr. Allison wants Obsidian to be self sufficient in the next she wants him to need her and trust only her.
At one point in the story she is begging on her knees with her arm wrapped around Obsidians legs. REALLY
The last story in the series
Narrator is pretty good. She needs a stronger story to read.
Nah too sluttly
This is just too predictable. If things are in danger the thing to do is definately the thing to do is have sex. How stupid can you be, really. If these Alpha males where mine I would have to exchange for a smarter version. I am really hoping the next is a little more action packed.
