Imagine answering your cell phone one day to a male voice that gives you three minutes to confess your sin. If you don't, the madman, Slater, will blow your car to smithereens. You barely manage to exit heavy traffic and ditch the car when, precisely three minutes later, your car blows sky high. The media and police descend on the scene; your world has just changed forever.

    Tami B. says: "Brilliant!!!"
"Great story. Not so great narration."
    Overall

The overall storyline was filled with intrigue, and the twists and turns that every good mystery novel should have. I just couldn't get past the narrator not giving each character their own personality. I also had a hard time with the music at the end/beginning of each chapter. I feel that it interrupted the natural flow of the book.

When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.

    Sandra says: "Utterly Awesome!"
    "Awsome! Make a movie!"
    Overall

If you love fantasy, you'll love this book. It has a LOTR feel because of Eragon's quest. The author's description of surroundings, people, animals and 'majik' is so involved and realistic that it places the reader RIGHT THERE in the midst of events. The reader is given the chance to grow and learn with the characters. And, the characters will grow on the reader!! I love books, but WOW!!!, this would make an awsome movie!
