I listened to stay with the story, but I did not like the reader. Her variations in voice were not consistent. Her voice would sometimes be high for a man, and deep for a woman. She then would change and reverse. You could tell when she would come back on, slow then fast. Very disruptive.
only if I have no choice in the series
Stop the F***! Oh my gosh the opening of the first chapter every other word was the F*** this and F*** that, long with F***ing Christ! I mean this was ridiculous! I have been in Colorado in the mountains many, many times and they do not talk like that. Needs to be more creative in her vocabulary. I loved her last story and tolerated the over use of the F*** word, but I had to stop before the first chapter was over. I am a teacher and I do not want to accidentally use that word at school.
I may have to move along from this series. Janet Evanovich, Sherryl Woods, Susan Wiggs, or Debbie Macomber all are excellent authors that I enjoy.
Save the F*** for occasional use.
I haven't decided whether I will continue with this series or any other of this authors books if they all have the same limited vocabulary.
I enjoyed the variation in voice inflections.
I would compare it to Susan Wiggs for sex scenes, only not as over done. I would compare it to Sherryl Woods for the series of romantic yet a little suspense.
I enjoyed the awesome voice changes that made the character come alive.
The Gettaway, sometimes stepping back sends you stepping forward in another direction.
Way, way, way overuse of the F*** word! I don't mind it occasionally, but when it is used with F***Christ, and the majority of the conversation it makes the author sound like she cannot be creative enough to get her message across.
I love this series, just the right amount of humor, suspense, and romance!
Kate because she funny, touch, and sexy.
I hope to see about 20 more books in this series!!
Mystery with sexual tension, a good combination!
I liked the banter between the main characters, and the father who is always waiting in the wings.
My first time, I enjoyed him very much!
Made me laugh!
I can so see this as I TV series, I can just see Sandra Bullock in this series!
Janet has a wonderful way of mixing humor, romance, and drama all in one story.
The prospect of future books, and the way the author could bring the story to life with every detail.
I can't say I had a favorite yet, I will have to wait until the next book. The stories of each held my attention equally.
The narrator Lorelei King does a wonderful job. I chose this book because she was the narrator.
Each of the three stories within the story held moments where I felt caught up and tearful.
I am hoping that she will include a little more humor and romance in her future books.
