I really like Will Robie's character! He is a great assassin who really care about those he let's get kind of close, while trying not to get close to anyone.
Another great story by Baldacci. This is the second book about Will Robie. Great action and storyline. Robie is a great character that is great at his job as a CIA assassin but struggles to have a real life and feelings outside of his job. FBI Agent Vance and teenage Julie were both back in this book but with a less part than in the first book (that was my only complaint with this book). The action was great with Will trying to track down a traitor(s) within the government and CIA. I will definitely be looking for another book featuring Robie.
love Joe & Elvis stories
Love Elvis's sense of humor even when he was in a bad situation
John Stone....and I really did not like his Joe voice
The violence by the cartel/human smugglers was frightening and on a good note I loved Joe's loyalty to finding Elvis.
A great Joe and Elvis story! Yes, it is a very gruesome story and really makes you think (and be thankful our relatively safe life we live here in the US). The story starts out with Joe looking for Elvis who has been kidnapped. Elvis was looking a a college student who is missing and he figures out that she had been kidnapped by some very nasty drug cartel/human smugglers. Eventually he was taken too and Joe sets out to find him. If you are looking for a great read that will keep you on the edge of your seat, check this one out. And of course you still get Elvis's great sense of humor.
I might try another book by Macomber if it is on sale but would shy away from the audio by the same person
please use males for the male voices next time
not such whiny, wishy washy women would have made it better
This book had great reviews but I found it just annoying. I would not recommend it to anyone.
an good thriller or romantic thriller
the narrator was OK...I just did not care for the story at all.
boredom......I could care a less about any of the characters or what happened to them. I finally gave up a little over half way into the book.
Where do I start? This was a book for a book club at work and I just could not finish it. I don't know if it was the writing style or the story itself but I could not get into this book or care about what happens. I have read books where I love to hate the hero or heroine but here I just did not care. None of the characters had anything to care about or like and the whole thing was way to melodramatic for my taste.
Jill Redfield did a great job of narrating bu the story itself was just bad! I might try and Silvia Day book but just not in this series.
Not much of a plot and the heroine Eva was way too much of a drama queen
about half the sex and half of the over the top descriptions of EVERYTHING
Where do I start? I have heard so many good reviews for this book but I just don't get it. Eva, the "heroine" is a whiny, self centered DRAMA QUEEN. The whole story is basically Eva and Gideon having sex, Gideon saying/doing something she perceives as wrong, then she runs, Gideon comes after her, they have "amazing" sex, then she runs again. Even the sex (endless) scenes got boring. There was really NO plot, except Eva being a total drama queen. Yes, this book was similar to Fifty Shades but at least in that book I could feel the authors love for the characters and what story she was trying to tell.
a total hoot!
a great mix of mystery, humor and romance!
Agnes and her frying pans!
yes I would love to have the time to do that!
I had previously read this book and then listened to it. This is one of my favorite books when I need a laugh. And I'm sure we all can relate to Agnes and her frying pans! I know there have been times I wish could have slapped someone upside the head with a frying pan. No, the book isn't super realistic but is a fun read that will make you laugh. But if you listen to it with earbuds you might get funny looks when you are walking around giggling to yourself!
I don't know if I would recommend as an audio book as I did not like the narrator but I did like the story. This was a great story about learning not to judge a book by its cover. In this story we have three women who live in historic houses that set next to each other, call The Three Sisters. As the women get to know each other they see that they each have issues and their own "skeletons" they are dealing with. The 3 women's friendship grows as they learn to see each other in a different light.
no, I really didn't care for her voice and really didn't like her men's voices.....she sounded more like a 3 pack a day 90 year old smoker.
good story but didn't care for the narrator
Love You More by the same author and some of the same characters
Oh what tangled webs we all weave! Wow this was a great thriller that kept you guessing and if you think your family is screwed up just wait until you read about the Denby's. In this book the Denby family, mom, dad and 15 y/o daughter are taken hostage out of their own home. Tessa Leoni, from Love You More (which is a great read too), is hired by Denby Construction to investigate what happened to the family. Tessa works with the FBI and local law enforcement to find this family. What on the surface appears to be a large construction family run by a close knit group, ends up being anything but. About the time you think you have figured out who kidnapped them there is another wrench thrown into the mix to keep you guessing and trying to figure out the who and why. You don't need to read Love You More before this book even though some of the same characters play a role but the storyline is not effected either way.
not knowing why the bad guys were after Mike and his family until the 1/4 of the book
Kat, Mike's daughter
Mike leaving his daughter at the foster mom's home---so sad
I would have loved to but didn't have the the time
Wow, this was a great book! This is the first book I have read by Hurwitz and I will be adding more of his books to my "to be read" list. A great thriller with a lot of excitement and great characters. You knew right away who were the good guys (Mike Windgate and his family)and who were the bad guys but not until the last quarter of the book do you find out why the bad guys are are after Mike and his family. And the bad guys are very evil. This was a great read (or audio book as I listened to it) that is what we all look for in a thriller.
the location and the characters
When the women in Mac's life tell him how clueless he is when it comes to women was a hoot.
Life, Love and Friendship in a small town
This was a fun light book after reading/listening to several intense thrillers. The writing is great and characters were likeable. There is a small mystery but mostly this is a cozy read about friendship, love and a small town. After an old Army buddy dies Cooper goes to pay his respects to his friend at his home on the Oregon coast and finds more than he ever expected. I will have to read the next book in the series when it comes out later this year.
