Great series!!!! This is my favorite series. Each book builds on the overall world while keeping you interested in the individual romances. A few of the book were about secondary characters that I didn’t care about at the beginning and absolutely loved by the end. This review applies to the first 9 books in the series.
it went on and on with no end in sight with little purpose other than to go on and on while also not describing events worth describing.
Maybe, but after this that may be a hard sell.
There were portions of this book that were absolutely engrossing, but those parts were surrounded buy little more than filler. Even the passage of time in this book was a pointless filler. There were some many thing worth writing about that were glossed over, mean while shopping trips were described in useless detail.
This book made me really dislike both protagonists. Darkness was intolerable at a certain point, and Kat seemed more and more like an emotional punching bag even through the end of the book. The surrounding plot was lighter than usual in some areas and moving in others. this book is not about a tortured soul finding love and acceptance, this is about an ass hole finding someone to emotional abuse. Just because he didn't beat her doesn't make it any less abusive. This is sad addition to the series.
I would to see if the writing gets any better. There were so many disconnects that things were difficult to follow at times.
The different spin on Vampires
not a PNR. Oh, and who pronounces Ketchup as "Cats-Up".
Any one of the issues would have allowed this to be a 4 star audio book, but the disconnects in writing and the narration issues caused it to be a 3 at best.
I really enjoyed this book, but there is a big ole "To Be Continued" at the "end" I like to idea of a PNR with the same H/H but "To Be Continued"... that is always a bit of a let down.
Seriously what was the point. I thought I might have missed something worth listening to when I realized I was 85% through the book.
Maybe the narrator thought she was reading for people that don't speak English. Otherwise I have no idea why the narration, particularly men's parts, was so mind numbingly slow.
This book would be great from someone that doesn't mine knowing 90% of the plot and just watching as it unfolds. The writing and characters are well written, but just because the main character refuses to put the puzzle pieces together doesn't mean the reader/listener won't.
If you could promise me the main character would not be so daft about ignoring her surroundings I would listen to another in this series. There is so much potential here.
Alex, because at least he seemed to be able to think past what was 2 inches in front of him.
A strong heroin with her head in the sand. What a waste, to be quick witted and woefully ignorant.
More story and Character development. Less focus on the physical parts of budding relationships.
Write a book for adults story not just "adult" themes. The Story had potential, a lot of potential but the all the focus was on the physical and there was little attention to the actual Story line.
They all had a good start, but they didn't grow they jump from one childish extreme to another
Kill Donovan Kane
Maybe not. the main character was showing some signs of growth however this mind not defend yourself crap is getting old for a "tough as nails" assassin
Lauren Fortgang is great.
ANGER and DISAPPOINTMENT
How do you save your sister, kill your nemesis and still come out acting like a pansy who can't speak up in the next book (this one). I am only halfway though this book and i don't think I can take it anymore. At some point characters should show growth. This is worst than watching TV, what makes books good is that characters can change. This book is about a supposedly tough assassin and yet she doesn't defend herself against those that a mock her for saving their lives or her own. I get that other characters can be stupid and not want to face the reality of the situations in the book, however the main character should not be sitting back and taking abuse for the other characters.
The pace, the idiocy of the characters, the premise of the book, and the ending.
It would have made since if one group didn't understand the other, but for some one exposed to both groups not to understand ANYONE it makes no since .
out dated version of creativity
i hated them all, but they all had some ridiculous purpose.
This would have been a great book in the 1930s, when bigotry was common and made since to people. But in modern times people may not be the most open minded but the characters in this book display a level of close mindedness that is baffulling. This IS NOT a book who's quality has with stood the test of time.
