It is 1908, and international tensions are mounting as the world plunges toward war. When a brilliant American battleship gun designer dies in a sensational apparent suicide, the man's grief-stricken daughter turns to the legendary Van Dorn Detective Agency to clear her father's name. Van Dorn puts his chief investigator on the case, and Isaac Bell soon realizes that the clues point not to suicide but to murder.

    Bob says: "Entertaining"
    "Move over Dirk Pitt!"
    Overall

This book keeps it real and this reader guessing and jumping. Isaac Bell gets the job done in style without the high tech and the fancy wizz-bangs of today. A good book and a great listen!

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Russell says: "Glad I Listened to 11-22-63 First"
    "Simpsons Movie was better."
    Overall

I was lost. I was confused. I was bored. I didn't laugh. I didn't cry. I wasn't touched. But it was a King Novel so it wasn't a complete waste.
