I've come to the conclusion that James Patterson doesn't actually write anything anymore. All these books that he "co-authors" with all these other people don't seem to have his "voice" at all. That said this was an entertaining read, though it bears no resemblance to the Patterson of old.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I can't remember the last time I've read a new (to me, anyway) author and had such a positive reaction to it. I hope he keeps writing this kind of novel, because it has everything I look for in a book: mystery...suspense...great character development and keeps you on the edge of your seat with a new and novel (no pun intended) premise. More!!!
