This addition to the series was Duke's story. Duke is the sheriff of the town and the last of the Grayson brothers to get married. He meets Faith when she moves into town with her aunts, little brother, and daughter. Their love develops but Faith's past begins to overshadow their future together.
This story (as well as the whole series) has so many poignant moments between the couples and the family members. They are rich stories filled with good old fashioned romances....nothing fancy.....just wonderfully written stories of love, honor, passion, laughter, justice and forgiveness. These rugged Grayson men are not afraid to meet a challenge and definitely aren't afraid to admit when they are wrong. This whole series takes takes you back to when men were gentlemen and chivalry was alive.
This series is a winner.....5 stars!
I almost passed on this second book in the ‘Clan Grant’ series because the ratings were all over the scale, but I’m glad I took a chance.
This book is different than many Highlander stories in that it concentrates more on issues within the clan rather than Highland battles between clans. Its a touching story with many heartwarming scenes that, unless your heart is made of stone, are sure to bring a tear to your eye.
Quade is Laird to his clan and deeply loves his family. Brenna is a revered and dedicated healer who doesn’t back down from a challenge. Their romance is sweet and progresses into a deep and tender love. The secondary characters add charm, wit, and many poignant moments to this emotional story.
This one is worth a try if you enjoy tender—heartwarming stories. ;-)
Vonda Sinclair delivers a delightful first book in the Highland Adventure Series. I appreciate Ms Sinclair’s descriptive writing style. This is a book that is written not only with words but with feeling.
This is the story of a widower, Alasdair, a strong and compassionate Highland Laird, and Gwyneth, a determined and passionate English Lady who happens to be a healer. Their relationship is built on indebtedness and progresses to a love full of sensuality and chemistry. This couple is very compatible…..in more ways than one!
If you enjoy Highland historical love stories then you will enjoy this one. I'm looking forward to the remainder in this series.
This is a charming, uncomplicated time travel romance set in South Carolina during “present day” and the American “Civil War” eras. The romance between Keldon and Arianna not only has to overcome “everyday” relationship situations, but also has to deal with the limitations of a different Century, along with trust, betrayal, and doubt issues. It is a lovely “Southern” story and has just enough history (the good and bad of the civil war) to delight history lovers.
So, sit back with some sweet tea or lemonade and enjoy the travel back in time.
This is the 2nd of 3 books in the Age of Faith series by Tamara Leigh. The books in this series are “clean read” books and can be read by young teens and adults alike.
This story continues with the Wulfrith family and focuses on Beatrix Wulfrith who is the sister of the “hero” from the first book. Beatrix is a woman with strong integrity & faith and Michael is a man who struggles with family loyalties, trust and faith. Their romance blossoms through tragedy and develops into an engaging love story.
As I stated in book one’s review, this series has “Christian” elements which gives dimension to the personalities of the main characters. These moral “standards” increase understanding of the character's motivations which add to the believability within that time period in history. It is not “preachy” in any way nor does it chastise any belief, rather, it quietly shows that love and forgiveness can persevere.
I recommend this beautifully written series to anyone who enjoys faith based romantic stories.
After listening to “The White Lord of Wellesbourne” I knew I liked the writing style of Kathryn Le Veque and I had to listen to this second book to find out more about Gaston, the Black Knight.
Ms. LeVeque’s clever way of writing draws you into the story and makes you feel as if you are part of the action—actually feeling the events as they happen and love being there. This epic book has times of pure sadness, times of laughter and times of intense emotion. It's truly and emotional rollercoaster that kept me guessing throughout.
Although I thought the language was a bit modern in places it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed this book. If you enjoy Medieval historical love stories—put this one on your list!
Its truly wonderful when you find a book that has characters that you love and a story that makes you laugh and cry. This is a touching story of Matthew, a compassionate knight, and Alixandrea, a sweet lady, who are betrothed through an arranged marriage. This beautiful medieval book is filled with history, betrayal, passion, war, jealousy, secrets, loyalty, friendship, grief, and even some humor. It’s got it all.
It took me a while to adjust to the narrator, but he grew on me and overall he was very good.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy medieval romances. Now, because I have to know Gaston's story, I'm off to listen to Dark One, Dark Knight.
This entertaining novel is a fast paced fun adventure that is a daydream escape for the young at heart.
The “hero” Drake is a dashing anguished Duke who meets the beautiful feisty capable “heroine” Alexandria on board his ship. This charming high sea romance is a bit predictable but is lots of fun. It is truly a feel-good romance that is light on history and high on entertainment.
If you are looking for a fun romantic adventure with great narration…..give this one a try! ;-)
This is my first book by this author and I’m sure it won’t be my last. I have to admit that I started and restarted this book 2 times within the first chapter before I continued further. I think it was the narration, as it took me a while to get into her rhythm of speaking. But, I’m glad I didn’t give up.
Steeped in history, this is a truly gripping story that is filled with heartfelt characters. It is a believable story that deals with family conflicts, revenge, and forgiveness. It moves along at a good pace and definitely holds interest throughout. Both the main characters, Annyn and Garr, have well developed personalities that draw you in to their world. Their romance is engaging, challenging, and so very sweet.
This story has “Christian” elements which gives dimension to the personalities of the main characters. These moral “standards” increased understanding of the character's motivations which added to the believeability within that time period in history.
If you enjoy history, heartfelt strong characters, engaging story, and romance (no detailed sex) then this one is worth a credit. I will definitely be ordering the next in this series.
After finishing "True to the highlander" I knew I wanted to know Robley's story
I was delighted to find that this book was just as cute as the first. In this story, Robley sets off for an adventure and meets up with Erin who is a 21st century career minded and college educated woman. They develop a quick friendship which evolves into a romance that defies centuries. Their journey is romantic, witty, clever, and magical.
If you like fun and easy listening Highland romances then give whole series a try.
I almost skipped this one because of the bad reviews but I'm glad I took a chance.
This is a light and humorous highlander time-travel romance set in present day and 1423. Alethia Goodsky is of Native American decent, is an accomplished violinist, and a strong independent woman. Malcolm MacKintosh is a Scottish warrior who is strong, brave, and smart....with a quick wit. Malcolm finds Alethia and immediately they both feel a strong attraction to one another. Their time and cultural differences are evident but Alethia's Native American background allows her to become more accustomed to the 15th century. They begin to realize that they have more similarities than differences.
I did not find the narration of Angela Dawe irritating at all. Each voice was unique and I thought she did a very good job with this book.
This book is charming, funny, touching, romantic, and very entertaining.
