"Never lets go"
Talk about a thriller! What a roller coaster this one is. I loved it, never knew what was coming. How that preview reviewer can call this book "predictable" indicates that he or she is clearly clairvoyant because this book is just the opposite of that and a great listen. I found so many new ways to drive to and from work, just to make the drive longer!!!
"Big Disappointment"
This is by far the worst in the otherwise wonderful John Corey series. After the thrill of The Lion's Game, Wild Fire, Plumb Island, etc., this is more of a boring study of the country Yemen than anything else. None of the usual sparks between Kate and John, in fact Kate is hardly a part of the narrative. Really, don't waste credits on this book, nothing happens.
He's always great.
No.
"A you KIDDING me?"
Honestly, I can only blame myself. What was I thinking, downloading this horrible fluff ball? This book was poorly written, the characters are insipid and the narrative arc really doesn't even exist. This story could have been told in an efficient 15 minutes and it still would have been a hideous piece about very unsympathetic characters. I have no idea how this thing was ever published, and the narrator needs to find a new job, his voice sounded like sand paper. Never again from this author!
"The ending dissapoints"
I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to storytelling but there is a whole big NASA and space shuttle thing going on with this story that is reeeeeeally a stretch. I guess I enjoyed the story, but the ending is a huge let down. I rolled my eyes and thought about how the author has done SO much better. Not a waste of money, but you know....
"THIS KILLER SLAYED ME!!!!!"
I think the fact that the author was also narrating this outstandingly clever, subtle, droll, salty, restrained, funny and drier than Shaw romp helps immensely in its success. I'm sure some are out there who won't appreciate the shrewd nuances in this utterly delightful listen, you need that certain sence of humor -- dry and sarcastic. Trust me, this book takes no prisoners at all. Enjoy it, I sure did!
"So much fun"
What a fun book. Great timing and pace, I loved it, actually laughing out loud with regularity. The name "Andrea" will never be the same to you again. Listen to this sharp book and you'll know what I mean.
