Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

This was such a great book!! The narration was excellent which is so important with any audiobook. It had such a great plot line, showing how one night can change your whole life.
All the characters had personality, even the dog!! At the end when the narrator says "I hope you have enjoyed our presentation of The Witness", I said out loud, "I did, I did.
    Go Nora Roberts!! You rock!

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

I'm an avid reader and listener, but I have never read a John Grisham book.
This book is now at the top of my list of great stories. The narration was excellent and as you know, the narration can make a good book not listenable. 5 stars all the way around.
I guess, I'll go back and read some of his earlier books!!

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Unlikeable characters that you find yourself rooting for. I felt the same way about "Girl Gone." I don't know how Gillian Flynn does it, but I absolutely LOVED both novels.
    Unlikeable characters and all!

The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

I too clicked on the icon of the book by mistake. When I read Cindy's review I was intrigued.
She said it was the best mistake she ever made. I ordinarily would not have picked this book. In fact, I passed it over many times in viewing my audible selections.
This book is wonderful!! I usually go for thrillers, but I have to say that after this book, I will expand my horizons. The ending was beautiful. The narration was excellent!!! 5 stars to you Jess Walter!!

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Started out slow. I didn't like either character. Then the story started building...moving, it was almost like a roller coaster ride. It was great until the end. When my Ipod clock registered 30 minutes until the end, I couldn't believe it. This can't be the end. Five minutes left, I can't believe it's ending like this. Slow beginning. LOVED the middle. Hated the end. Excellently written. I will read more Gillian Flynn. She's Good!!!

In Money, and the Law of Attraction, Esther and Jerry Hicks present the teachings of the Non-Physical consciousness Abraham. The concepts offered here relate to the topic of abundance and prosperity. They will show you that you truly need to think about what you want in your life and not what you don't want. If you put your attention on thoughts of not having enough money, you are in the perfect position for the creating of more of that which you do not have.

I've been reading a few books on this subject lately. I've really didn't get it. I was on the edge of getting it, but not really there. I downloaded this audiobook, and everything became crystal clear. I know now how to guide my feelings to what I want, and I always know where I am by how I feel. Thank you Esther, Jerry and Abraham. I am grateful and thankful for this book.
I admit I was skeptical at first, but you can't knock the information, wherever it's coming from.

Best-selling, award-winning author Jan Burke presents Remember Me, Irene, a novel of "electric suspense" (Grand Rapids Press). Here, daring investigative reporter Irene Kelly encounters a most unexpected blast from the past. "I'm not who I used to be," whispers an apparent stranger on the street. This cryptic remark puts Irene on the path to uncovering the very core of the city's corruption.

The publication of Power vs. Force by Sir David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., reveals to the general public secret information heretofore only shared by the author with certain Nobelists and world leaders. Analyzing the basic nature of human thought and consciousness itself, the author makes available to everyone the key to penetrating the last barrier to the advancement of civilization and science and resolving the most crucial of all human dilemmas.

Greg says: "Good book – poor narrator"
    "Horrible narration"
    Overall

Dr. Hawkins has done himself and his book a disservice by also narrating. His droning voice would not let me continue listening to the material. This book was recommended in books and tapes by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I read the reviews that complained of the narration, but I thought with the interesting material, I could get through it. Sadly, I could not make it through. I wish I could contact the author or his people and suggest that the book be professionally read. He would reach a greater audience as I'm sure the material is very worthwhile.
