When Olivia Bevelstoke is told that her new neighbor may have killed his fiancée, she doesn't believe it for a second, but, still, how can she help spying on him, just to be sure? So she stakes out a spot near her bedroom window, cleverly concealed by curtains, watches, and waits . . . and discovers a most intriguing man, who is definitely up to something. Sir Harry Valentine works for the boring branch of the War Office, translating documents vital to national security.

    Story

I liked this love story because it didn't have the usual "hate each other" or contrived misunderstanding conflict that is prevalent in most romance novels. The couple seams perfect for each other from the beginning and after some witty and fun dialog, they fall in love and fulfill their desires. It is perfect romance that works. The author does a good job of making you feel the excitement of saying the words "I love you" for the first time even though the characters have no doubt they are coming. It just feels good and made the fairy tale real for me.

In the resplendence of William the Conqueror's London court, the lovely Saxon captive, Nicholaa was forced to choose a husband from the assembled Norman nobles. She chose Royce, a baron warrior whose fierce demeanor could not conceal his chivalrous and tender heart. Resourceful, rebellious and utterly naive, Nicholaa vowed to bend Royce to her will, despite the whirlwind of feelings he aroused in her.

The story ended too soon. I wanted at least two more chapters and an epilogue to fulfill expectations of the plot.

I loved the ensemble cast and feeling of family and connections between characters. The main love story was well developed and worth the wait for the very hot love scene. I often get bored with characters that are too perfect, but the perfect men in this story were just too good to get bored with. I can't wait to hear more of this story in previous and later books.
