  • The Martian

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Andy Weir
    • Narrated By R. C. Bray
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

Michael G. Kurilla says: "Macgyver on Mars"
    "Great read."

I started listening and could not stop. The author definitely did his research very well. It seems so possible.

    Michael says: "High Energy Ride!"
    "The assassin with a conscience"
Would you listen to The Gray Man again? Why?

Yes, and very soon. The are so many twists to the tale that it feels like you may have missed something in your haste to finish the book

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gray Man?

When he realized that he can trust no one, especially his handler.

Have you listened to any of Jay Snyder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, it made me very sad and very happy. Sad at his betrayal and happy that it did not turn him into a cold blooded killer

  • Kill Shot: An American Assassin Thriller

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Vince Flynn
    • Narrated By George Guidall
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard. Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes.

Elle says: "I'd listen to Guidall read the tax code, so..."
    "Rapp on burn notice"
What made the experience of listening to Kill Shot the most enjoyable?

George Guidall (my all time favourite) was really able to bring the characters to life. I could actually see the characters in my minds eye at put real life actors in some of the slots.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it took unpredictable turns and twists that I did not expect.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

    Bringing the characters to life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes, and I did

    Any additional comments?

If you are a Rapp fan, it is a must read
