"not his best"
I loved Gawande's previous works, and avidly read every new piece in the New Yorker. This was underwhelming, and a bit boring at times. I agree with other reviewers who say it is padded and has a simple yet eloquent thesis. He even makes the episode about the Citbank Tower, which was riveting in the original New Yorker article (by another author) come off dull...
"don't miss"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it is an amazing value for 1 credit! This book was my constant companion this fall, and was riveting and thought provoking to the last "page". I really admire the narrator, he did a great job with the different characters
"Love This Series!"
I love the Serraillier series; i have read all of them (even the new one that is only published in the UK) the plot lines are picked up, characters are not forgotten, and the richness of the stories, the length of time and depth spent with them is wonderful! Do Not Miss! Read them all! The narrator is great too!
"Definitely worth it"
The narrator of this series is pitch perfect; I prefer to listen to the series rather than read it.
