Emma Corrigan has a long list of secrets, one of which is that she is afraid of flying. Coming back from a thoroughly ruinous sales trip to Glasgow, the plane she is on encounters some air turbulence, and she ends up spilling her guts to the handsome American sitting next to her. He gets to hear that she fibbed to get her current job and that she has never been able to satisfactorily find her G-spot. Then, the plane lands...and the American turns up in her life again. He's the CEO of her company....

I love the Shopaholic series. I even paid full price for the hardcovers... but this one was not the same. I was very disappointed. I think many of us can relate to Becky from the Shopaholic on some level, but Emma seemed shallow to me and I think you need to be under 35 to appreciate her thought patterns, and there are many of those. I found the book tedious and only enjoyed the last two hours.

Armani! Versace! at every turn. As things escalate from the merely unacceptable to the downright outrageous, Andrea begins to realize that the job a million girls would die for may just kill her. And even if she survives, she has to decide whether the job is worth the price of her soul.

I loved this book as much as I loved the Shopaholic series. It was so entertaining, I didn't mind all the driving I needed to do and even spent extra time on the treadmill, just to listen to it!!! There was not a boring moment in the book at all. I highly recommend it.

I have never been disappointed by an Ed McBain book, and this was no exception. I have about 30 minutes left to listen to and will get on the treadmill just to listen.

The first hour was good, then it was downhill. I mean there are recipes, lists of ingredients and how to cook it in the book. I fast forwarded that part, after all, I did not buy a cookbook. The story was well told for what it was, basically somebody's diary. You may think that Bridget Jones was a diary too.... it was but things happened in her life, this one is strictly a diet diary. I suppose it can give somebody inspiration, but be warned it is strictly AJ's story of how she got fat, and how she gets thinner. Not the worst I heard for diary stories.....

For the Wittgenstein family, the summer of 1915 was a time of both prosperity and unease, as the guns of war sound in the distance. But for eldest daughter Beata, it was also a summer of awakening. By glimmering Lake Geneva, the quiet Jewish beauty met a young French officer and fell in love.

I absolutely loved this one. I have not read Danielle Steel in years because I found her novels too predictable. This one was absolutely marvelous. There was not one slow minute in the book, I could not wait to drive somewhere, go to the gym, or clean my house so that I could listen to it.

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, her mentor Ranger, and a host of other - ahem - interesting characters set out to find a missing 7-year-old girl. The search becomes a race among Stephanie's posse, the True Blue Bonds Agency, and the crew of one very scary man named Eddie Abruzzi. Did we mention there's also a killer rabbit on the loose? The world of Stephanie Plum has never been wilder!

It was my first Stephanie Plum book, and while it is far from the best audio book I have gotten, it certainly was amusing. I loved her character and especially Ranger. I will definitely check out more of her books, but would like to start with the first. I think you need to get to know Stephanie from the beginning.

This was by far the worst audible book I have gotten. The story sounded interesting, but it certainly was not. It could have been told on 1 CD, but instead it was dragged out by excessive description and enough metaphors to make you ill. Maybe the author really wanted to be a poet... This book cannot give hope to anyone in an abusive relationship. First of all, it must take place in the 60's. It is very out of date. I only listened to it because I bought it and it is better than radio ads. I just fast forwarded often. If you happen across this book - don't bother.

Hot off the success of her best-selling Can You Keep a Secret?, Sophie Kinsella delivers another hilarious Becky Bloomwood novel. When last we left Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood), she and Luke had just married and she'd unveiled her big honeymoon surprise...around-the-globe plane tickets. World-weary 10 months later, the newlyweds return home filled with excitement to share the details of their amazing escapades.

    Overall

I enjoyed this fourth book just as much as the first three. I find Becky very amusing and you can't help but like her. The relationship between her and Luke? (can't remember hubby's name)is a good part of the story aside from the found sister aspect. I would definitely recommend it for Becky fans.

I did get the audible version of Can you Keep a Secret, but did not enjoy that one nearly as much as the Shopoholic series.

In Berlin, a woman vanishes from the city streets. In Paris, a man plunges from the Eiffel Tower. In Denver, a small plane crashes into the mountains. In Manhattan, a body washes ashore from the East River. At first these seem to be random incidents, but the police soon discover that all four of the victims are connected to Kingsley International Group (KIG), the largest think tank in the world.

I totally agree with all said by Brian in his review "Very Amateurish" I too could not believe how many times these women escaped death. The book did not have the twists typical to his usual works either. I was disappointed.

  • Heart Full of Lies: A True Story of Desire and Death

Perhaps America's best selling true-crime writer, Ann Rule, asks can the female really be deadlier than the male? Liysa and Chris Northon seemed the epitome of idyllic lovers when they married on a moonlit beach in Hawaii. Their friends admired the romantic couple: Chris, tall, athletic, handsome, a pilot for Hawaiian Airlines; and Liysa, attractive, seductive, with a tanned, perfect body. Their son, Bjorn, looked just like his dad, and they were raising Liysa's son by a previous marriage.

Joann says: "One of Ann Rule's Best"
"Does not live up to her others"
    Overall

I could not even finish the book. There were far too many characters and these peoples background did not seem to have any bearing on the story. At one third of the way through it I still did not have a clue where it was all leading - it did not seem to be going anywhere. I think I am tired of Anne Rule.
