I really love Jill Mansell's writing. The characters are interesting and very engaging. Although it's a lighter book it still keeps you guessing and unsure what the characters will end up doing.

It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

It took me a while to get into this book because I didn't enjoy the narrator. I stuck with it and finally got into the storyline and got used to the narrator's style. I find the narrator got better in subsequent books. Either she improved or she grew on me. Its a great series and I'm intrigiued by the characters.

I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoy Jill Mansell's writing and the narrator was terrific. The only downside was the character Dulicie she really annoyed me. I found my self cringing at her stupid escapades. She was ridiculous but the other characters we're quite charming and likeable. And I became invested in their story lines and how their lives we're going to turn out.

It is the summer of 1950 and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavia's family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath. For Flavia, who is both appalled and delighted, life begins in earnest when murder comes to Buckshaw.

Flavia is so smart and charming. I love the way this little chemist and budding detective goes about solving the mystries. She is so delightful and she makes me smile with the things she comes up with. All in all I think its a great series.

I enjoyed this story for the most part. The main character was frustrating at times. For a smart woman It took her much to long to realize what her responsabilities were. The story was good other wise.

At first I thought how the heck am I going to find a psychic realistic especially one as good as Abby. But then I thought of all the vampire, werewolf and ghost hunter books I've listened to and I thought why not try. I find it a funny and entertaining series. I really like this chick lit mystery.
