Sure but not enthusiastically. . . good narration doesn't involve aping the speech of hunter s thompson on amphetamines. . .I just want the prose not the whole lump of crap entourage (Johnny Depp, Fear and Loathing hype) that usually comes this guy

He remembers his teen summers spent working in a movie Cineplex and his early years doing stand-up. Oswalt thinks himself cultured and literate. Unfortunately he sucks as a writer when he tries to overextend himself. This guy is just a medium talent comedian. Bleh. . .I have read some crappy comedy but I feel dirty after listening to Oswalt fill up time as he extensively goes over a crappy comedian's schtick (political jokes, topical humor, etc).

DONT BUY THIS! It sucks. . .get the first part if u can

If u must listen to it then wait for the public library to get it.

This guy sucks after 30 minutes. Fat pompous idiot.

What did you like best about 21? What did you like least?

Narrator did fine job.
The counting system sounds fascinating.
The lead character, Kevin, sounds like he has every Donald Trump book in existence.
I don't think I would like him.
He really critiques his mentor's bad teeth.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

More strategy. I hate hearing about them sucking up to celebrities and cheerleaders.

Which scene was your favorite?

Learning to count cards and anything with the Mickey character.

Could you see 21 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Never. . .uhh maybe Kevin Spacey. Kate Bosworth is too dumb to pull off the math whiz character but whatever.

Execution is fine. The lead character is not very likable.

Great reader who really uses the material to scare the beejeezus out of you.

McCarthy has. . .uhh. . .kind of a dark side in quite a few of his books and this text can drag on quite a bit.

If I was reading I would blow off a lot of the landscape exposition so I appreciate the breathy inflections.

I have never read a guy who has such an incredible vocabulary for landscapes. I actually knew the term arroyo before I read but that doesn't even scratch the. . .uhh. . .firmament.

McCarthy uses dramatic King James Old Testamenty grammar too.

Have no idea of text but heard the pictures of Supreme Court Justices' genitalia were vulgar & simultaneously disappointing. (?)

The reading lends a lot to the comedy & despite the stigma of being a nonreader (which Stewart mentions at beginning & aptly so) I adored this reading. You appreciate the comedy much better with the inflections.

Wonderful reading by very competent voices.

(If you feel he's a bit flat, as some folks do, it helps to bump the speed up a notch if you are using an iPod).

Read it had some humor but I found it occasionally, maybe it's just me. I saw the humor more at the end.
