"Irritating"
1st book in 12 months I just could not finish. Finally gave up and quit listening after about 8 hours of pure agony.
"Very Good"
Well written and entertaining. The reviews that described the so called "rape scene" as brutal and graphic are just silly. Spoiler alert... A girl given ecstasy who then takes off her shirt and performs fellatio on several men while being filmed without her consent is not a "brutal rape scene". Sad and unfortunate maybe, but not brutal.
"This is a must read"
One of the best books I have read in my lifetime. Although I listen vs read mostly out of convenience, I would highly recommend the audiobook. This was the best narration I've encountered in the countless audiobooks I've listened to and the separate narrators paint a perfect picture of each character.
"Loved the book, extremely annoyed by the narrator"
If the producers of this audiobook were unable to use Marguerite Gavin as the narrator for some reason or another, the least they could have done is suggest the new narrator listen to the other books. I'm surprised she was able to pronounce the main character's names correctly, she screwed up so many other words and names. Give me a break... Piss-ca-reee, Say-hann, taca-taaa. I found myself waiting for the next name or word she would butcher. Who knows, perhaps this narrator was using the author's intended pronouciations? I would assume that checking with the author for the correct pronouncination of names would be a extremely important aspect in the production of an audiobook, but I guess not in this case???
"Fantastic"
One of the best books I've ever read! The narrator was the best I've ever listened to and I'm an audiobook addict. Every character had a unique voice and perfect accent. Libba Bray just keeps getting better and better. The first book in the trilogy was very good, the second was great and this one was fantastic.
