The Star Kingdom's ally Erewhon is growing increasingly restive in the alliance because the new High Ridge regime ignores its needs. Add to that the longstanding problem of a slave labor planet controlled by hostile Mesans in Erewhon's stellar back yard, a problem which High Ridge also ignores.

I like david weber if i read his books. his honorverse narrator sends me up a wall. so when i saw this i jumped on it. but this is dragged out history lesson. if you love the honor verse you love it I'm sure. well written and narrator. just honestly not for me. only reason i ut 3 stars is its not fair to go any lower just because its not my type of book. Still a good book if you like extreme detail. but i didn't finish it,

This book seems to be a first for the author. not as smooth as i would like, good action, good characters. character have a good sense of right and wrong and sacrifice. a good little love story in there. just what you think a person might be in a future service.

Seventy years ago, the interstellar supercarrier Ark Royal was the pride of the Royal Navy. But now, her weapons are outdated and her solid-state armour nothing more than a burden on her colossal hull. She floats in permanent orbit near Earth, a dumping ground for the officers and crew the Royal Navy wishes to keep out of the public eye. But when a deadly alien threat appears, the modern starships built by humanity are no match for the powerful alien weapons.

Where does Ark Royal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It really would be in my opinion a 3 1/2 but i think that rating on audible would keep some one from trying this book. its a good book. but they get into things like the press, and politics and tends to be a bit dry, English author. but the story and the drive of the book and you gotta love the captain and his real deamon of alcohol.

Which character – as performed by Ralph Lister – was your favorite?

I like this narrator allot. i have heard several of his books and he never seems to share a voice between them. i never say oh ya thats that character from this other book with him. one of the few narrators i can do that with.

Would you consider the audio edition of StarFire to be better than the print version?

The story is good and i want to know what happens an i will listen to the next one. but it may get pushed back for more favorable authors. I prefer a fast paced book, i am not a hardcore read me the serial number sci fi fan. i like it fast pace action pact hero driven book. but the story will make me keep coming back, because the hero here gets in a spot and i really want to know what happens and i like him. if he wouldn't tell me so much about marine procedure and why and don't of everything he does. oh and he repeats some of the same things to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Solid Narrator, i could identify each character by his voice. he lead questions to questions and statements to statements i was never confused ny the meaning.

As a result, Captain Stalker and his men are unceremoniously exiled to Avalon, a world right on the Rim of the Empire. It should have been an easy posting...

If you could sum up The Empire's Corps in three words, what would they be?

I thought this was a really good fast pace book. The politics of whats going on were not dragged out. the physics of light speed were not dragged out. in fact they were on the fringe with realistic believable problems. I though author didn't dwell on any individual thing or character. it was pleasant and fast pace. but i need to know what happens next!

If you could sum up Dark Space in three words, what would they be?

Another reviewer compared to lost fleet. It's a little less science then that if possible. Straight sci fi story. Good with out the long draw on of how long it takes to travel 1000000 miles across a planetary system ect ect that some authored love to tell you about for endless hours. I call it sci fi light which is what I like. So I enjoyed the heck out of the book. A little short for a credit is the only negative I can give this book. Narrator did a decent job. Not sure why others didn't like him.

    Fast pace

What other book might you compare Annihilation to and why?

Star wars, David weber, john ringo

What three words best describe Liam Owen’s voice?

    Good bad editing

    Any additional comments?

This is a good face pace story. For once earth has a leg up. A first book by the Author, and you can tell,. It's not annoying you can just tell. But it has a pace that keeps going. Not for the hard core who want to hear about the hard science behind ftl travel, or how they overcome challenges of astronavigation. But light sci fi at its better!

Barbara Everette, a homemaker living in a small town in Mississippi, had the perfect life. Perfect husband, perfect children, perfect house, perfect Christian Faith. What did you love best about Princess of Wands?

i like getting several stories for the same character

Have you listened to any of Suzy Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no but i really like her

    Any additional comments?

Well i went to my first con after this series. this is several short stories. and i really liked the format. i always wonder about the stories or characters that never make a whole book that are on the scrap pile. and this is one of those i think. but the stories are fun and go different places. now this has a big christian undertone because the main character is christian, but he really does hid research and puts her to the test. so that in of its self is fun. so don't let that part of the store keep you from the book. it did for me until i was on a long drive and needed something and john ringo has always been a hit for me, so i went for it and he still has not let me down yet!
