  • The Alexandria Link: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 24 mins)
    • By Steve Berry
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Cotton Malone retired from the high-risk world of elite operatives to lead the life of a rare-book dealer. But his quiet existence is shattered when he receives an anonymous e-mail: "You have something I want. You're the only person on earth who knows where to find it. If I don't hear from you, you will be childless." His ex-wife confirms that their teenage son has been kidnapped, and it becomes clear that those responsible will stop at nothing to get what they want: the lost library of Alexandria.

Before I got this book I read the reviews, first this narrator is just fine I foud this very easy to listen to. The subject matter may challenge your accepted ideas on the Bible, but we learn all the time. The story moves just fine, but maybe a little predictable. I travel often and have between 200 and 300 books on audible to I listen too, this one will be replayed. If you pass it up it is your loss.

  • Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crises

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By James Rickards
    • Narrated By Walter Dixon
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In 1971, President Nixon imposed national price controls and took the United States off the gold standard, an extreme measure intended to end an ongoing currency war that had destroyed faith in the U.S. dollar. Today we are engaged in a new currency war, and this time the consequences will be far worse than those that confronted Nixon. Currency wars are one of the most destructive and feared outcomes in international economics.

Roddie says: "Must read, listen too!"
    "Loved it"
Would you consider the audio edition of Currency Wars to be better than the print version?

    I only listen to books

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

I would like to hear anyone's thoughts to this book.

    Any additional comments?

I would like feed back to this book. I live in a isolated area. I would like to hear what others thought of this book. To me it was fascinating and I am watching the markets to see how they go. This time period is following the 1930's to a tee.

    • By David Kirby
    • Narrated By William Hughes
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Recent public-health crises raise urgent questions about how our animal-derived food is raised and brought to market. In Animal Factory, best-selling author and investigative journalist David Kirby exposes the powerful business and political interests behind large-scale factory farms and tracks the far-reaching fallout that contaminates our air, land, water, and food.

    Glenda says: "Excellent"

I would highly recommend this book to anyone concerned about the food we buy in the stores. Easy to listen to and I now look at meat in the stores in a whole different light.

  • 13 Bankers: The Wall Street Takeover and the Next Financial Meltdown

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By Simon Johnson, James Kwak
    • Narrated By Erik Synnestvedt

Even after the ruinous financial crisis of 2008, America is still beset by the depredations of an oligarchy that is now bigger, more profitable, and more resistant to regulation than ever. Anchored by six megabanks, which together control assets amounting to more than 60 percent of the country's gross domestic product, these financial institutions (now more emphatically "too big to fail") continue to hold the global economy hostage.

Kyle says: "Easy to Understand and Comprehend"
    "worth the time to read"

it gives one a good eye sight why we are in the mess we are. A lot of good historical facts. Worth the time to listen

  • Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse

    • UNABRIDGED (21 hrs and 9 mins)
    • By James Wesley Rawles
    • Narrated By Dick Hill
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

America faces a full-scale socioeconomic collapse in the near future. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation cripples commerce and the mounting crisis passes the tipping point. Practically overnight, the fragile chains of supply and high-technology infrastructure fall, and wholesale rioting and looting grip every major city.

    Hugh says: "Accidentally Good"
    "don't waste your time"

It is terribly slow, mispronouciation of Bovill, any part of North Idaho is isolated and Bovill is the coldest part of Latah County. His facts on survial not quite accurate. I have read better books on survial and his is the poorest

  • Jury Master

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs)
    • By Robert Dugoni
    • Narrated By Robertson Dean
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

David Sloane is the best wrongful death attorney in San Francisco. He's a lawyer who can make juries do anything. But despite his professional success, he's plagued by a nightmare of a childhood he cannot consciously remember. When he receives a package from a White House confidant who then turns up dead by apparent suicide, the contents reveal a history he never could have imagined.

    Ted says: "80% Riveting 20% …. Huh?"

Fast read. Not your typical lawyer novel; He is in the court room at the beginning and the end of the book. It has a lot of tist and turns. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to his next
