Mind body Spirit brain correlaries and the use of Intention and Attention to change intranced patterns and to creat altrnate results and states fof mind adn thus reality
I thought his reading was clear and insightful and well tempered
the last 1/4 Changing reality andinner and outer states thorugh the use of will and attention .
Excellent science but most of all the proof that we co create our reality and that reductionist materialism is aremnant of old non science.
the practical uses of intentional focus and willful use of dynamics to create alternate results and reality.
If you ar into the mind body spirit movement and or the brain sciences this gives you a great amount of ammo to prove that our intentions are powerful if we use various techniques.
I have been waiting for this book to be released in audio format for quite a while now.
I got a broad overview a comprehenvie insight in to some of the current affairs in the industry and in policy as well as in Rifkins successes and visions for a post carbon society...
Cannot truly compare it to any other I personally have read.
he is going straight for solutions rather than rehashing the failures of the giant utilities and coporations like others do. it is time to quit debating and install the infrastructure albeit diverse.
Quite mellow good tempo for ths particular book
that governements and communities are making the quantum leap to innovations they have to and they are willing do go for the practical bit by bit colutions without more legislative nonsense and debates.
Wish the fobidden areas could be discussed like seperating hydrogen from oxygen in water //a simple simple technique //to produce two volatile energy sources ...from water.
.and more about photosynthesis the model for solar cells and solar efficiency
it is good to pinpoint who and waht companies are stopping progress and their conenctions to big companies and oil-coal-gas.
Nourishment - Mindfulness- Awareness This is another classic Chopra volume and it has many facets integrated into its diverse insights. Deepak is returning to the issues of health and happiness and now food as a complex and yet basic system requiring mindful living and practice. Nothing can be more basic than "food and nutrition and taste" and the many elements associated with food including emotions and relations.
In this brilliant book Dr. Chopra uses his medical background as well as his studies in Ayurveda and nutrition sciences and also current research about GMO's and organic vs non-organic in a non-dogmatic , yet precise manner to inform and enlighten the reader in some of the new intricacies of food politics and advertising. He then offers solutions for the SAD diet and the processed sugar and fat laden lifeless food of the market while listing a colorful array of alternatives which draw much from the seeming less endless array of raw and fresh fruits and vegetables (and their rich content of phyto-nutrients) and other plant material and other wise choices for those seeking a real food alternative to "diets" that don't work. Yet just when this seems to be a book about diet and fresh foods and choices it starts a rich pattern of integrating all aspects of "nourishment" in the broadest sense and continues to integrate the many aspects of living that and lifestyle as well as habits that can affect our well-being.
Emphasis and enunciation of points and feelings. And author's insights in an audible form.I personally I always prefer hearing Deepak narrate his books. His wisdom is palpable.
I again see the comprehensive nature of Deepak's insight when he inttegrtes many messages into one volume. The title ofthe book and the opening chapters makes this seem oike a book on nutritiona nd diet yet it brings about a transformation as it develops into a life sciences and awareness text with the classic Chopra insights.
The book then investigates all of the aspects of consciousness and living which can have effects on the quality of life and ultimately on one's happiness and balance.Included in this book is much contemporary research on biochemical as well as psychological factors involved n the many levels of "nourishment" As always with Deepak Chopra's work the key is mind-body-and spirit, the Trinity. And true to his roots in Indian culture. Deepak brings back the insights of the science of Ayurveda to broaden the definitions of and insights into holistic nutrition as well as lightening and enlightening the mind and body in a "full spectrum" approach.
The review of emotional well-being and Self-regulation reviews many delightful and informative views on maintaining inner perspective and mindfulness . Throughout the book Deepak uses a lovely phrase "lightness of Soul' which aptly describes the freedom from emotional-psychological and physical burdens and toxins.
The last section of the book has many recipes and suggestions for meals and food preparations from the Chopra kitchen and center.Make no mistake, this is no mere food-diet-menu book. It truly draws upon the wisdom of many philosophies and sciences and modern science as well
I highly recommend this book from Deepak because it weaves together the practicalities of diet and food as well as the issues behind eating and the practices we can integrate to produce optimum health and nutrition as well as the practices needed for balance and insight.. Definitely 5 stars
Yes I am always glad to hear Deepak's voice and enunciation
The color and diversity of Deepak's wide range of topic and wisdom are always fulfilling.
the interplay between their respective stories and their memories and humor.
it was profound...ina unique manner
this is a comprehensive review of some of Deepak's vast experience in the human life. it adds so much more vlue to Deepak's wide experience and philosophy and yes science.
The incredible data that Colin Campbell has uncovered in a 60 year career in medicine and health research.
Few are this cimprehensive Though John Robbins books are in the same vein.
Enunciation and clarity
Life and Death and healthand Your diet What the government and industry is not telling you about what you eat and how it affects your health.
You will not be disappointed when you egt this book It is astounding and profoundly important for you and your family and your community.
I appreciated the storyline adn anectdotal stores especially the inital story of Robert Lanza at Harvard as a young boy (himorous). excellent. And to see similar insights in this new field of unification with a kindred spirit. Dr Lanza is truly a luminary with a lifetime of contribution to science and biology as well as philosophy and regenerative neurobiology
He has a grasp on the story and allows me to digest as the narration unfolds with the color and detail that his great narration allows adn accentuates
AHHHHH! Weel that film would have to include his incredible current pioneering work in stam cells . his miraculous discoveries in biology and stems cells and even the fantasy arena of recreating extinct or threatened species has a storyline that would make an incredible film.Touch the Future
I beleive Dr Lanz is an extremely rare genius who weaves together psychology and philosophy with humor and radical insights ...and adding this to his revelations in stem cell landmarks makes him a nobel prize winning visionary
He also distinguishes between non-sensical non provable radical theories that have no foundation in reality..in making physics subordinate to biology adn tangible reality which mirrors the patterns and wisdom of the unseen world.
I have listened to it 5 times already.
I had an NDE in 1971 and the issue is closed- it is factual .
But to have a formerly skeptical Neuro-surgeon experience this with no explanation for the severity of the meningitis
I felt Dr Alexanders narration was perfect and needed for the authenticity of the events
no one could have narrateed as perfectly as he did.
the fact that it happened to a doubting skeptic and now Eben is organizing and co operating with others devoted to exploring a quite "common" experience (Yes transformative NDE's are common but rarely spoken about)
I am excited about the potentials of research to bring about more details of the
processes a real "Science of Spirit"
The skeptics only argue personal non experience not science. the beliefs of reductionist materialist psuedo science is not science but simple dogma
All of the book had its various "moments" for variable reasons
but the redeeming qualities (non religious context) where an experience of light and color and consciousness allowed Eben to "become the "All' for a brief period.
the reminders that we are not essentially seperate from the Whole -the Creator .
I never once felt Dr Alexander indulged in religious views.
Anyone that has had transformations like this has to use some contextual language.
I had an experience much like this and I did not want to tell others because of the implications and possible lack of belief even by loved ones.
the final conclusions that
"All is well!"
this book moved me deeply and I read at least 35 books based on science and research per year minimum. I value science . but the science that is based on open research and open discussion and open views as well as the willingness to research and not condemn the condemnations dont do anything but show prejeudice.
If anything Dr Alexanders experience could not have happened to a more perfect person a skeptical neurosurgeon
it seems like a "setup " by many forces ... i wont define those forces or put names as most are too religious or boring. Suffice to say..those who know the experience will resonate and not like with MOST of the other books on NDE which are not as authentic and not to a person of such integrity and respect
Skeptics will face the moment one day.. we all have this experience or the other the result of our nihilisitc beleifs so careful with the skeptical attacks . you might have to emerge on day after death to your beliefs
I was looking all over for a long time to a sequel to SPARK...and this book was listed as similar WOW. MUCH better than I expected This is another MUST bookMore of these PLEASE
Singlae narrator but "Me" in thje end
Yes and I love his reading and the books he reads The Book i was searching for was another of his...
Realizing how simple willpower for health and wellness and optimum living is it is not DENIAL.
I would really truly like to see more books like this and SPARK I will refer to this one over and over ...estimate listening to this another 10 times.
YES and Already have to hundreds of people
The relationship between health and fitness and the dynamics of mental development and brain health . Also psychological benefits of exercise
But this is MUCH more than mere health or exercise book . Much more
He has a very subtle but effective manner to timbre a manner of bringing out salient points without any seeming effort
During a day of activity while working and driving - no focus needed initially
yes in one day for me.
This book is much more than what it seems
I have been searching for others like it for a LONG time and there is sill -at this point -nothing like it
I wish this was a trend .. We cannot get enough of books like this . It has no boring points no bad issues . And yes all schools and corporate offices and hospitals amd retirement homes and colleges need to use this as standard fare for staff and patients..
Please catagaorize anynother books whose content is similar . And Mr Ratey please write a sequel!!!!!
