Conventional science has long held the position that 'the mind' is merely an illusion, a side effect of electrochemical activity in the physical brain. Now in paperback, Dr Jeffrey Schwartz and Sharon Begley's groundbreaking work, The Mind and the Brain, argues exactly the opposite: that the mind has a life of its own. Dr Schwartz, a leading researcher in brain dysfunctions, and Wall Street Journal science columnist Sharon Begley demonstrate that the human mind is an independent entity that can shape and control the functioning of the physical brain.

Excellent science but most of all the proof that we co create our reality and that reductionist materialism is aremnant of old non science.
the practical uses of intentional focus and willful use of dynamics to create alternate results and reality.
If you ar into the mind body spirit movement and or the brain sciences this gives you a great amount of ammo to prove that our intentions are powerful if we use various techniques.

Would you listen to MONEY Master the Game again? Why?

I plan on listening a minimum of 12 times this next 12 months alone..and then some.
Repetition is a critical element of mastery especially with a book this enormous.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Man himself.. Anthony Robbins..his kinesthetic nature and voice tonality and enthusiasm and energy level is unparalleled. But of course the never before experienced
eleemnt of being able to actually hear from the top invenstors adn experts in the world!
    Amazing.

Which character – as performed by Tony Robbins and Jeremy Bobb – was your favorite?

Tony Robbins is the practical sage of our times.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

You have to listen to all 20 plus hours to appreciate that... Do it now!

    Any additional comments?

    Literally Amazing!

This book achieves what formerly seemed impossible (But that is what Tony Robbins is so good at)

I won't bore with extensive details as the other reviews are very good at that.. in fact the reviews are excellent.

(Read all of the reviews you can for a synopsis)

I would highly suggest that you also purchase the audiobook version as experiencing Tony's voice tonality and the kinesthetic nature of his presentation is literally %90% of the "delivery".

I first experienced Anthony Robbins at an event in the early 80's in Waimanalo Hawaii and then i Honolulu. Those were the early days of the legend being born. Both events were topped off with firewalks.

I was once interviewed over the phone by Tony during one of his shows as I fit the profile of someone living their dream (living on a white sand beach in Hawaii and living a creative life)

You don't need lengthy reviews to convince you to buy this book (and audiobook) ... You will be so happy that you did..and after you experience it be certain to " let your network and team know".

Enjoy a modern masterpiece. (and get the hardcopy as well)

Can God be revived in a skeptical age? What would it take to give people a spiritual life more powerful than anything in the past? Deepak Chopra tackles these issues with eloquence and insight in this book. He proposes that God lies at the source of human awareness. Therefore, any person can find the God within that transforms everyday life.

What made the experience of listening to The Future of God the most enjoyable?

Deepak Chopra voice and the insights he uniquely integrates with his science and philosophy. Writing a book such as this demands a comprehensive insight into issues andPracticalities as well as inspired wisdom. The term repent means to "rethink" This new book from Deepk Chopra is a timely reminder that we are in the midst of an evolutionary renewal in which the global dialog/experience of humanity together with the insights we have gained from personal revelation and insight over the past 5,000 years combined with the synergy from our growth as a species and as mindful beings allows us to collectively review our definition of Spirit and Soul and the spiritual experience. In an enlightened civilization science itself has the potential to actualize and extend spiritual insight ((consider a Hubble telescope image of a new galaxy or spiral nebulae..) Or in the research which shows in double blind scientific studies that prayer or meditation or love or intention can be mapped in the brain during an FMRI session?

Much of the Baggage that religion has carried for centuries and millennia is being jettisoned away and we are in a new spirit a new renaissance of enlightenment processes including using the scientific method to bring about more awe and reveal more potential

We now have the potential as individuals and as a society to embrace what works and dialog and discuss what does work as far as "practical spirituality" and in "transcendent spirituality.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Future of God?

The final insights and conclusions We are redefining the term God.But also the incredibly insightful reviews and endorsements by top scientists and experts on the Amazon reviews section...

Omnipotence and Omnipresence and Omniscience may seem like grande terms but beyond a deity or daunting God or authority figurehead there is a new realization of the greening of "God " stuff....

We now find these above concepts being revealed in the laboratory from non locality to remote viewing and so forth.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The many stories that Deepak tells of historical backgroinds in faith and religion many of which inspired and many which are black stains on the term "God"

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    God Evolves

    Any additional comments?

Another excellent blend of Deepak Chopra's incredible insights into the elements we all need to realize that God is a truly functional term...needing an overhaul in its definition and practice... I have waited for over a year now for this book and I am truly inspired by the content of Future of God.... and in that our future......as a species discovering its larger self. transcending old boundaries and as a result finding true compassion and synergy and therein creating a new Earth and new world and for ourselves a new Life potential.

What do you crave? For many of us, sugary treats, fatty meals, and high-calorie snacks are impossible to resist. And yet, reaching the bottom of the biscuit tin rarely leaves us feeling satisfied. What if we are actually hungry for something much more fulfilling? In this groundbreaking new book, best-selling author and endocrinologist Deepak Chopra unites the latest scientific and alternative therapy research to reveal how our overeating is often a symptom of "inner starvation" - a hunger for love, self-esteem, happiness, and security.

    Story
If you could sum up What Are You Hungry For? in three words, what would they be?

Nourishment - Mindfulness- Awareness This is another classic Chopra volume and it has many facets integrated into its diverse insights. Deepak is returning to the issues of health and happiness and now food as a complex and yet basic system requiring mindful living and practice. Nothing can be more basic than "food and nutrition and taste" and the many elements associated with food including emotions and relations.

What was one of the most memorable moments of What Are You Hungry For??

In this brilliant book Dr. Chopra uses his medical background as well as his studies in Ayurveda and nutrition sciences and also current research about GMO's and organic vs non-organic in a non-dogmatic , yet precise manner to inform and enlighten the reader in some of the new intricacies of food politics and advertising. He then offers solutions for the SAD diet and the processed sugar and fat laden lifeless food of the market while listing a colorful array of alternatives which draw much from the seeming less endless array of raw and fresh fruits and vegetables (and their rich content of phyto-nutrients) and other plant material and other wise choices for those seeking a real food alternative to "diets" that don't work. Yet just when this seems to be a book about diet and fresh foods and choices it starts a rich pattern of integrating all aspects of "nourishment" in the broadest sense and continues to integrate the many aspects of living that and lifestyle as well as habits that can affect our well-being.

What does Deepak Chopra bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Emphasis and enunciation of points and feelings. And author's insights in an audible form.I personally I always prefer hearing Deepak narrate his books. His wisdom is palpable.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I again see the comprehensive nature of Deepak's insight when he inttegrtes many messages into one volume. The title ofthe book and the opening chapters makes this seem oike a book on nutritiona nd diet yet it brings about a transformation as it develops into a life sciences and awareness text with the classic Chopra insights.

    Any additional comments?

The book then investigates all of the aspects of consciousness and living which can have effects on the quality of life and ultimately on one's happiness and balance.Included in this book is much contemporary research on biochemical as well as psychological factors involved n the many levels of "nourishment" As always with Deepak Chopra's work the key is mind-body-and spirit, the Trinity. And true to his roots in Indian culture. Deepak brings back the insights of the science of Ayurveda to broaden the definitions of and insights into holistic nutrition as well as lightening and enlightening the mind and body in a "full spectrum" approach.

The review of emotional well-being and Self-regulation reviews many delightful and informative views on maintaining inner perspective and mindfulness . Throughout the book Deepak uses a lovely phrase "lightness of Soul' which aptly describes the freedom from emotional-psychological and physical burdens and toxins.

The last section of the book has many recipes and suggestions for meals and food preparations from the Chopra kitchen and center.Make no mistake, this is no mere food-diet-menu book. It truly draws upon the wisdom of many philosophies and sciences and modern science as well

I highly recommend this book from Deepak because it weaves together the practicalities of diet and food as well as the issues behind eating and the practices we can integrate to produce optimum health and nutrition as well as the practices needed for balance and insight.. Definitely 5 stars

The Chopra brothers were among the most eager and ambitious of the new generation. In the 1970s, they each emigrated to the United States to make a new life. Both faced tough obstacles: while Deepak encountered resistance from Western-trained doctors over what he called the mind-body connection, Sanjiv struggled to reconcile the beliefs of his birthplace with those of his new home. Eventually, each brother became convinced that America was the right place to build a life, and the Chopras went on to great achievements.
