Its a good book, but very Wodehouse in that it repeats the same sort of stories as a lot of the other books. Nevertheless it's very funny and takes you back to the fairy tale England of Wodehouse.
This is a story of unbelievable courage and determination, but sadly it does not come across that way when you are listening to it.If fact it is a bit boring and hard to stick with. I found that there were parts that, really dragged. Yet when you take what is actually happening it's amazing. The problem is a combination of poor writing and not the best reading. I felt very disappointed because as I said, the story is really mind blowing. It deserves a far better treatment.
This book grips you from the first sentence to the last. The story is non stop, really it is VERY hard to find a spot to turn it off to rest for a min. You just can't stop listening. Likewise the narrator is extremely good, totally believable as the voice of the lead character, and all the other ones as well. I can't recommend this book highly enough.I have often read and listened to books that seemed to start well and then fizzle out,but this one keeps its promise to the very last word, literally! Read it or you will miss a good experience.
Even after all this time they are still very funny. There style of comedy is terribly English, and a little old fashioned, but truly classic.
