The long-awaited story of Anders has finally arrived, and it did not disappoint. Immortal Ever After was a little slow in the beginning, but picked up in the middle and ended with an exciting conclusion. The story has a full cast of characters from the previous 17 novels, including a great secondary story with Lucien and Lee. This book did not have as many of the humorous lines that I love in some of her previous books, and I missed that. If you are new to the Argeneau series, I would not start with this book.

Paula Christensen, who has read two other, recent Argeneau editions, does a good job with the female voices, but not so much with the men. This is especially true with the story's subject-- no one does Anders like Kirby Heyborne in The Renegade Hunter.

As an early reviewer of this audiobook, you must know I am a big fan of this series. This book was well worth the preorder.

He's a reclusive writer whose imagination creates chilling horror novels. She's a down-on-her-luck actress reduced to staging kids' puppet shows. He knows a dozen ways to kill his characters with his bare hands. She knows a dozen ways to kill an audience with laughs. But she's not laughing now.

I love SEP books and have listened to all of them. This latest one was a real struggle for me to finish-- the only reason I did is because of the author's reputation. The mystery was weak, and there was little humor. I only laughed outloud once, which is rare for her books. The story was a challenge for the narrator-- lots of characters and multi-person (puppet) conversations. I felt she did a decent job, but there were some times where it was difficult to follow. If you have never read this author before, do not start with this book.

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side - extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

This series is full of alpha males, steamy sex, suspense and laughter, and this book is the best of the three. Each of the female lead characters have different personalities, but have one thing in common-- attraction to dominant men. It makes for a great listen. The ending was one that I didn't anticipate, and I liked that too. Adam Paul is a good narrator. Well worth the credit, but start at the beginning of the trilogy and listen to them all-- you won't be disappointed.

I probably would have given up on this book after the first five chapters, but I did not have anything else new to listen to. Roger Hampton's wonderful narration helped me through this slow moving story, which I must say, did improve during the second half of the book. Even though I am a big fan of Highland romances, I'm not sure if I will continue with this trilogy.

The ruthless enforcer of Scotland's most powerful clan, Jamie Campbell will use any means necessary to vanquish lawlessness and unrest among the feuding Highland clans. Seduction is a game as easily played as subterfuge, but when Jamie poses as a suitor to a rival clan's daughter in order to expose treason, the line between duty and pleasure is suddenly blurred.

Not your typical Highland romance, I poured through this book in two days. The relationship between the characters is complex and unpredictable. There is lots of action, in and out of the bedroom. I'm ordering the next book in the series right now.

Loved it--I didn't want this one to end!

Book #17 brings back well-loved characters from earlier books, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much. But don't shy away from this being your first-listen in the Argeneau series. Sands gives a good background summary early on in the book so you won't be in the dark. Then you can go back and start from the beginning.

Paula Christensen did a decent job with the narration of the main characters, less so with the others. It was difficult for me to listen to the voices of Lucian, Armand, Andres, and Bricker without Rick Robertson or Kirby Heyborne narrating. And she pronounced Notte wrong.

Escaping a horrible marriage, Carolyn Connor has no desire to think about men - a vow she's determined to keep while on vacation in St. Lucia. She'll take the Caribbean sun and sea and plenty of tropical drinks with those cute umbrellas poolside, thank you. She absolutely does not need male company, no matter how tan and rock-hard his body may be. Easy enough, but then Carolyn meets the charming Marguerite Argeneau, who is infamous among her family for her matchmaking prowess.

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South -- when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

But thanks to Lauren Fortgang's excellent narration, I stuck with it. The plot picked up, and I finished it the following day. I am curious on how the saga continues, so I will probably buy Book #2.
