You can't say this often, almost never, but I thought the movie was way better.

WOW!! These two guys recreated the vampire like no other. This book has it all! …Steve King’s Salem’s Lot was an excellent book and still one of my favorite classic vamp tales but The Strain nudges King off of the top of my list! …and if these books were written before Bram Stoker's Vampire, the stereotypical white faced, long toothed, black cape wearing fellow would have never even made it to the main stream!! Bravo!! DO NOT PASS THIS BOOK BY! ....PS. the narrator ISN'T that bad. Ok, so his character distinction isn't the best on Audible but he still has a pleasant reading voice and he is more than bearable. Do not let the bad review’s of the reading scare you off. …the vamp's might though….

I can see the movie production now…. “lights! Camera! …..What action???” I think it was over 7 hours in before good old Mich even got just a little violent. What the…. I mean come on Mich… Kick some butt why don’t ya. At least break somebody’s thumb or something! Definitely not as much action as other Mich Rapp books. Sorry Vince but I have to give this one two broken thumbs down.

It was a good story though. just not the Mich I’ve come to love reading about.

The book was good and well written but not what I expected. To me, there isn’t anything scary listening to someone give a recount about their experiences with the zombies. I guess I prefer to be in the action instead of hearing 6 hours worth of interviews with the survivors. The author should have written their accounts as flashbacks instead. Now that I could recommend but if your looking for blood, guts and gore; this ain’t the ticket.

This is the 1st time that I liked the movie more than the book. Don't get me wrong, the book was realy good. Too short though. I wanted more. I liked the movie and was hoping that the book would sort of follow the same story line but it didn't and that was ok when I finished.
