While there are a few stories that seem like the author didn't know how to properly end them, the majority are excellent tales. Very different takes on what it is to be Vampire.

Patricia Briggs is one of the best authors of paranormal fiction and this book is an example why. It continues the story of Mercy Thompson, a Native American who is a coyote shapeshifter and married to the local werewolf pack's alpha. Action starts at chapter one and continues at a fast pace through the entire book. Briggs has a unique universe with the Faye and Werewolves outed among humans but Vampires and the other things that go bump in the night still in hiding.

Frost Burned is a very good read and I recommend it highly. It is book 7 of the series but can be read on it's own merit. Still, if you haven't started the series go grab Moon Called on your favorite medium. You won't regret it.

Lorelei King is great as Mercy.

A series of short stories set somewhere around book 5 plus a brief back story about Fang.

Samantha Moon's vampire abilities continue to grow and the addition of the medallion protection from the end of the last book has made her life much easier. Some new revelations concerning her children and a big step for Fang. Ishmael interferes and sets up Kingsley in ways that are devastating to Sam who was just opening up to him. Perhaps not fast enough.

Another good but too short book.

A quick short story that moved along nicely. Samantha seems to have no end to supernatural men who have fallen in love with her.

Too Damn Short

So short you have to work to stretch it out

Samantha Moon delves more into her nature and discovers just how wonderful human blood is compared to her normal diet. Problem is just how willing is are the sources in the vampire community? Plus what is the cost of saving her son from a deadly disease?

I never have time to read print so audio is always the choice.

The series is getting better as Samantha delves more into the supernatural and her powers increase. A more feelgood read with no cliffhanger and the author is improving his style. Still, I feel this was just the continuance and conclusion to book 3.

Yes because I've read the next couple and the author has improved.

Most interesting was Samantha's situation as a mother who was turned into a vampire and still has to take care of mommy stuff.

Least is the author's word padding.

I love her delivery actually.

There are several more in the series but J.R. Rain really needs to make novels instead of what are essentially paperback shorts.

Don't let the 3 star rating discourage you from reading the series. The stars are more about some annoying tendencies of the author to rehash things repeatedly. (see how I did that? :D)

The book is short and I still think the author pads words like a freshman English major. Still, I love the premise of the vampire who has to take care of her kids. Tragedy is hitting her hard and she is finally running into others of her kind. Of course, another cliff hanger ending.

Made me nostalgic for some of the first SciFi I read back in my youth.

This book was a gift and I expected it to be a chore to read. I couldn't have been more mistaken.The first half of the book is about him growing up and many times I was bursting out laughing at his stories. The second half is more about writing and though dryer is solid advice from the world famous author.

I love Ms. Frost's vampire universe and this is an excellent story with the main character getting turned and dealing with her new abilities. Great romance as usual and some fun twists.
