For Durzo Blint, assassination is an art---and he is the city's most accomplished artist, his talents required from alleyway to courtly boudoir. For Azoth, survival is precarious, something you never take for granted. As a guild rat, he's grown up in the slums and learned to judge people quickly---and to take risks. Risks like apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint. But to be accepted, Azoth must turn his back on his old life and embrace a new identity and name.

I can see why some people give this very low ratings. I think it may be a taste issue, and there are definately some bumps in the road. The story can be hard to follow and there are some very confusing scenes. However, I really appreciate that the author tried for some plot twists and revelations, and I really enjoyed the story, regardless of some confusion and yes it can be difficult to hear some of the dark side of humanity that is featured in the story.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

I generally do not write these kinds of reviews. Why waste my time? I could be doing something else, anything else.

This book is that good. If you grew up in the 80s, and especially if you were an adolescent male in the 80s this book will bring you back and make you think of things and remember experiences you may not have thought of in a long time.

I also love the fact that the story is fast paced, and while you can predict some of the action, there are enough twists and turns to throw you off and keep you guessing that you cannot stop listening.

    I devoured this thing.

And I am going to buy copies for my friends and family who I am ashamed to say have not made the leap to audio books and will need to use a book to enjoy this fantastic creation.

Thank you Ernest, loved the adventure you have taken us all on.
