I think so. The narrator was a little distracting with some of the voices she created for certain characters. For instance the character Shanna sounds exactly like Marilyn Monroe with her "breathy" voice, it wasn't bad just a little distracting from the story.
I loved how Charlaine Harris decided to end her Sookie Stackhouse series! Ive been reading this series for many, many years so I'd decided to read several reviews before purchasing the book (I'm leery of authors who completely destroy a series at the end in order to accommodate what people think should be their HEA). Those reviewers that I read were upset about who Sookie ended up with and not happy at all with the end of the series. I have to say that I disagree completely. Ms. Harris managed to find a very satisfying end while staying true to who Sookie was as a person. I would have loved to hear a little bit at the end about how Sookie's life turned out from that point (stemming from my desire to not let go of this series I think :-), I'll miss it!) but I can use my imagination :-). Overall, great book! A fantastic end to the series!
Ms. Parker always does a fantastic job with this series! Its always clear to the listener who is speaking and she has a way of giving each character their own personality beyond what is written.
The ending to this book was very disappointing because you're left with no solution to a very big problem in Sookie's life. Now I have to wait a whole year to find out what happens :( !!!
I laughed out loud at the parts where Christian's cousin is trying to figure out how Carolyn could think he was gay. It was a well written and entertaining book.
The book? Yes. This narration of it? No.
LOVE Lorelei King! She's done a fantastic job with every book I've ever heard her narrate!
This narrator did a very poor job; it's almost as if english is a second language for her. There were lots of broken/mispronunciations such as:
Throughout the story Lori is incredibly lonely but she fights her relationship with Quinn tooth and nail. How does it make any sense when you are lonely, have chemistry and serious feelings for a person that you would continue fighting it? I enjoyed the first book in this series much better, at least those characters embraced their relationship in the end. I had no sense of closure with this book.
