"Love gone bad, read well"
This book is a classic and read very well by the narrator. Having no idea what the story was about when I decided to get this book, I was in for a huge surprise. This book is an excellent narrative on a variety of male-female relationships that all demonstrate some type of domestic abuse. The heroines are looking for a truly love filled life and find themselves in varying degrees of despair due to their beloved men becoming controlling, cheating, manipulative, or even vindictive husbands. This story is not for the faint hearted or for those who like to read about romance.
"Fun and Fluffy"
This story is funny and quirky. A good listen for light days where you just need to laugh at the total craziness of society.
"Engaging even if false"
This is an excellent listen, even if we were lead to believe that this was a true story. The author's insights into addiction and abusive behavior is incredible. You will not want to stop listening to it once you start.
"Thrilling"
This is an excellent adaptation from the graphic novel of V for Vendetta. The narration is terrific. An excellent audible book, worth the buy.
"Words to grow on"
The author does an excellent job reading her book, it couldn't have been read by anyone else. Her story is helpful and entertaining. You will laugh, cry, and change as you listen to this book. It is a good read even if you are in the midst of a divorce, the content is uplifting and gives hope.
"Food for the soul!"
Barbara Kingsolver and her family created an excellent memoir of their experiences becoming more acquainted with their food lifestyle. The story is compelling, entertaining, and inspiring. I'm ready for change and this book helps show how easy it is to become more in control of your health and nutrition just by selecting food based on the real costs to our environment and our lives. A must read for anyone interested in a healthy, environmentally sustainable life-style.
"Light and Funny"
This is a great book for light listening and chuckles. It can be hard to sympathize with the main character because of the highly materialistic society she chooses to be in. But she does show her true colors allowing for a feel-good ending. The narrator is excellent, a perfect voice for this book.
"Spine Chilling"
The story of the Zodiac makes your skin prickle and you thank the Heavens that you are living in 2007. The narrator is the perfect voice for this story, he sounds like what someone like the Zodiac would be imagined to sound like. You will easily get sucked into the narration and almost belive the Zodiac himself is reading this story to you (and snickering all the way, enjoying how much he confounded the best minds in America for decades). Very worth your time and money to have this book in your audio library.
"Dark and engaging"
Kaitlyn will steal your heart as her story of poverty, drugs, abuse, and redemption unwinds. The narrator is excellent. A good buy.
"Heavy Reading"
This is not for the light-hearted or for those who don't want to hear about how our country really works. Very eye-opening and scary too. Mr. Chomsky's book is based on verifiable information, government documents, and historical records. It will make your heart ache for the world and hopefully make you want to work towards bringing our country back into a democracy. If you are a one-issue voter you should listen to this book, but you aren't going to like it.
