A star-studded cast of readers present unabridged tales of horror and suspense from Stephen King's classic best-selling short story collection.

    Walter says: "Great short stories!!"
"Interesting stories, hit and miss readers"
    Overall

I have such a love/hate relationship with Mr King's writing but the stories themselves in Vol 1 I enjoyed. The narration not so much however. Some of the narrators were spot on (Tim Curry and Rob Lowe being the best in my opinion) and others were too distracting to even attempt to take the story seriously (Lisa Simpson? You're kidding me, right?)

Overall it was worth a read, absolutely. I just think I would have liked it better in print.

  • The Collection: Volume One

The Collection contains 32 stories of hot blood and frigid terror that could have come only from the mind of Bentley Little...and that's a scary place to be. Volume One consists of 15 stories.

I really wanted this audiobook to rock. Bentley Little is my favorite horror writer and his full novels are some of my favorite books. This collection of short stories however, I wasn't pleased with. The stories themselves were fine enough but the narration was awful. Choppy and oddly paused with a sense that everything had been chopped off at the end of each chapter/story. Just really got on my nerves and completely kept me out of the mood of the book. Disappointing.
