I enjoyed listening for the differences between the book and the movie. Doc was way more developed as a character in the book as well as Jack Torrance. The movie made him seem just cold and brewing yet the book let you into Jack's mind. The book really made me feel his decent into madness and all the way through I still held hope that his love for his family would help him overcome his demons. What a great book! I can't wait for "Doctor Sleep" later this month!
Jack was my favorite character. Even though I knew how it would end, I was still pulling for him. I also really enjoyed Doc, he really loved his daddy and I was dreading what was to come.
He had big shoes to fill with this book and Campbell Scott did an amazing job, he is a natural.
Madness Awaits with a Feverish Murky Embrace
I enjoyed the different characters and the different narrators.
This book is very unique, I can't compare. I will say that the style of writing is similar to Gillian Flynn.
When the main character goes through the time machine
Not really, I just wish it was longer. The ending was a little too abrupt. I would have liked more detail.
Yes, the characters are complex. I like that Burns is not your ordinary detective. This book had a lot of twists and the end had me at the edge of my seat.
Maybe similar to the John Lutz novel, only because both killers are twisted however "the rosary girls" can stand on its own as creepy.
I can't say enough about Scott Brick, he could read me the dictionary. I chose this book because Scott was the narrator and I'm delighted to see he is the voice for the rest of the series. I will be listening to the second book in this series next.
****SPOILER***** The ending in the basement during the storm was intense. That's all I'm going to say.
Great book, I highly recommend it.
I was glad to see sean worked out his problems... for now anyways.
Kate was good.
Wherever you go, there you are.
I never read the print version.
I can't compare it, it was unique.
He is an excellent narrator.
Sleep with Eyes Wide Open
The story really dives into the human psyche of do we really ever know someone. The killer's method of killing is untraceable and terrifying. It leaves you wondering if what he did is possible or will it be possible in the future. If so, we all won't sleep so easy.
Scary, Spine-tingling (Is that one word or two?), Unique
This book was really unique, I can't make a comparison.
***Spoiler**** When Harper started talking to the killer on the computer.
I pretty much did.
Great Book! Even though the technology is ten + years old, the book is still edgy and relevant. Highly recommended.
Scott Brick as always. He could read me the phone book.
When the main character finally met with the detective.
When they confront the killer.
Yes because the series gets better
I liked learning about Lucy, I found myself routing for her.
Not really, her voice is too girly for men characters. She should stay away from books like this and stick with romance novels and mousy women.
Yes and I pretty much did.
yes, this was better than the first in the series by far. You can start to see Lucy in action and it was fun trying to figure out who the killer was.
I liked trying to figure out who the killer was and I enjoyed seeing Lucy work with Suzanne.
Her voice, its not right for Lucy, its too girly.
Love you to Death
I'm not a fan of back-woods thrillers and prefer characters running around in a city but that's just my preference. The story was good but Lucy really needs to stop being so needy. Her character is a little pathetic but I think the narrators voice adds to this. This is the last of Ann Marie Lee for this series which is good.
all the rest of the Lucy Kincaid books
I prefer to not know who the bad guy is but with this book we know. That's just my preference of story writing.
I was annoyed by Lucy and sometimes the boyfriend can be a little needy too. I guess that's why they are good for each other.
One of the better.
Kate is better than the original narrator. Kate's voice is stronger where the previous narrators voice too girly and feeble for a girl planning to be in the FBI.
Watch your back.
Great book, lots of good characters!
