If you like this a-- kicking, no holds barred, tough guy anti hero, stick with Lee Child's Jack Reacher. I have listenef to virtually everything in this genre and this is middle of the pack.

You would not think there would be much call for a narrator with a speech impediment but this narrator landed this gig. The book has so many flashbacks it makes you dizzy. This is a far cry from the "Dead" trilogy but still better than most.

I enjoyed the book and the narration but the editing was lacking. A lot of time was spent developing the character of the hero's sister and, to a lesser extent, her priest "friend." Howver when everything comes together for the final hundred pages she is never mentioned and the priest is barely mentioned. Also, the hero's avoidance of the fate of his colleagues is totally incredible in an otherwise credible story.

I have read all the Charlie/Carl books and this one is awful. The plot is absurd, the characters, especially "Svetty" are terrible. Charlie becomes a comic book fool and Dick Hill over does it.UGH

I am an avid listener of audio books and particularly interested in thrillers. I read many of the positive reviews on "Paranoia" and purchased it. All I can say is that it is painfully bad. The constant belaboring of irrelevant details (was there no editor?), the episodes comprising the plot become laughable (caught, caught, caught again but still trusted.) According to reviews it has a great ending. I can't wait to get there.
