I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to listen too and was well written with great narration. I would recommend it.
Yes it was a well told story with great characters.
I didn't care for the narration at all. When he was voicing Bart he just sounded like an adult with a speech impediment. His narration wasn't horrible, but it wasn't that good either.
The narration really made a great story even better.
Everything, she's just a great story teller.
The Shining was awesome, but this book was absolutely incredible and well worth what seemed like a painful wait. Will Patton is an incredible narrator.
When Dan released the spirit of the grandmother.
Everything. He really brought the characters to life and did a great job of voicing them all. I have never listened to a Will Patton book before, but I will be looking for more.
It made me feel like I was visiting an old friend.
Haven't read the print version.
It's a story within a story within a story and is well written.
When I first saw this book I was a bit reluctant to purchase it because I thought that Mr. King should probably stick to writing and let the "professionals" do the narration. However, I quickly learned that he actually does an excellent job in the narrating as well and I really enjoyed it. I've since listened to Bag of Bones and have confirmed my opinion.
Like most everyone I liked the book, and the music would not have been bad between chapters, but it didn't stop when the narration started and it make it difficult to hear sometimes, so it was a very, very bad idea. Whoever listened to it before putting this book on the market should have been shot, or at least fired :-)
It really, really surprises me when I read reviews that felt that the narration was bad. I thought Mr. Muller did an oustanding job and I am now listening to Black House, which is equally well narrated. This is a great book and I would highly recommend it.
I found that there really wasn't anything in this book that I didn't already know and it really wasn't about the murder case so much as it was about the formation of the Republican Party. Pretty dry at that.
Very well constructed, written and narrated, I had a hard time putting it down.
The narrator reminded me of the voice of Rudolph in the old claymation cartoon, but the book was well written and informative.
Although the author makes many good points, some of his assertions are, in my opinion, sheer nonsense. It always amazes me to hear people try to pass off the crap about the war not being about slavery, and I was born and raised in the South. If you listen to this, do so with an open mind and remember that these are his opinions, then listen to some of the good Civil War books :-)
