Amusing, entertaining and ultimately so moving, Beautifully and masterfully narrated. So many voices all well defined. I recommend this.

This is an amazingly entertaining and surprising listen. That is, if you approach it properly. If you are in a serious frame of mind and looking for the answers to the deep questions life may bring up, you should maybe pass. If, on the other hand, you are open, and willing to let surprising pearls of wisdom drop into your lap while laughing yourself silly and learning a little about life, the world, men, women and relationships, I strongly recommend this book. The narration is flawless!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed during and long after I was through listening. More memoir and personal opinion than self help. More funny and ironic than serious. But there are some very touching and moving moments also. Delightful. Totally delightful, and again, superbly and perfectly narrated! Bravo!

A good old popcorn kinda story but with a new age kinda sensibility. We have a complex and unusual lead character to follow here. And, with crime fiction, I think if you can say you were in suspense, but intrigued, and entertained all at once, the novel is a success. I can say that here. And it is.The narrator, is perfectly suited to the material. He takes us on this journey and subtly navigates along with us through the plot twists and turns. Really great work! Really enjoyable! Highly recommended!!!

A fascinating ride through history. Here we get a complex exploration of what spirit is and what it is to be moved by it. The narrator is perfectly suited for the material. He graciously draws us into and relays to us the story and time and rich character of Vin Lockhart. I am not usually a lover of Westerns, and this one made me wonder why. I highly reccommend it.

Really touching and laugh out loud at the same time. Eggers strikes a wonderful balance between serious and seriously funny here. The superb narrator never gets in the way of this journey, his subtle but well defined details of anxiety and sadness while looking at the world at large brings everything into perspective. Highly recommended! Especially if you need a laugh.

Passionate, surprising and very moving. I am not a science fiction lover and might not have listened to this book had it not been recommended. I found myself moved to tears more than once. It is a very outstanding audiobook. Definitely worth a listen.
