Just an ok listen and not very memorable. I'm not sure I'll try another with this combo of writer and reader.
These books are quite an adventure as they spin literature and history on their ear. You have to let go of logic to get into the story but the characters are fun if not a bit strange.
I bought this entire series based on a few of the reviews and probably won't listen to them all. There's not much to these stories but the main character Cece is a hoot. Probably good for listening to when you are not going to be able to concentrate (airport, DMV) but they didn't really grab me during my commute.
I'm not a big history buff but Meltzer's books make me take a step back and question what the true story is. I'm usually able to figure out the ending of most mysteries but I'm always surprised and intrigued by his books. Great narrator and fast pace make for a great listen.
If you love a little history mixed in with your mysteries, you are going to love this!
All the fun and quick paced excitement of a Cussler novel with a brand new hero. I'm totally hooked on Isaac Bell and Scott Brick. What a great author and narrator combo.
I loved sharing Dash and Lily's adventure and went right out and bought multiple copies of this book to pass along to my sons who live in Brooklyn. This made me want to be a teen in NYC again. A great listen for teens and adults.
What would you do if you had money that you had to spend? Not a problem most of us ever experience. It was great fun to follow along as the boys in the story try and manage with this unexpected windfall and all the complexities that having money can bring. Good for a family listen.
If you are looking for an escape, a story that can transport you away from the daily grind, give this a listen. There's a little bit of everything in this story; romance, mystery, adventure, humor.
It's so much fun to see how Sherlock learned how to read all the clues that are everywhere. This is the story of a teen detective but it's got way more history and adventure that your average Nancy Drew or Hardy Boy mystery. It's from a British author but since JK Rowling is a Brit, I thought I would give it a listen and I'm an Andrew Lane fan now. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.
