"Well Written Story!"
I truly enjoyed this story. What a pleasant surprise I stumbled on. It was a well written piece. You saw the way Joss grew throughout the story. Her struggles, her denials, her love,...all of it was felt in the telling. It wasn't an action packed story, there were no who-done-its...It was a story...a story of a young girl working her way through a tragedy in her life. Braden was delightful, and a hotty. He's just what Joss needed. You felt the chemistry between them. And you know the author did a good job on the alpha, when you want to meet someon just like him and take him home. :) I enjoyed the dialog between them, and the banter at times was just plain funny. The narrator did a nice job with the scottish accents. And the secondary characters were great. All in all, it was worth the credit!!
"An Incredibe Heartwarming Story!!!"
This one tugs at your heart! Kacey's life was destroyed after a drunk driver killed her parents, best friend and boyfriend. She was stuck in the car as the people she loved died around her. She becomes a self-destructing bitter person. After struggling for 4 years (she's now 20 years old), she takes her 15 year old sister, Livie, and goes to Miami to start anew. Their journey is an incredible one. She meets some wonderful people. And her new neighbor,Trent, is beginning to bring her back to life again. She struggles back and forth with feelings for him. And when she finally starts to fall for Trent....WHAM!!! The last couple hours of this audio is one heck of an emotional journey. I found myself so involved with the characters and what was happening. I even had tears at one point. The first 3/4 of the book is how Kacey is dealing with trust and learning how to "feel" again. The last 1/4 of the book made my review go from a 4 to a 5 star.
"BETTER THAN THE FIRST IN THE SERIES!"
I'm glad I tried the second book! It was definitely better than the first (In Her Sights). I've read better, I've read worse. At least in the second book, you felt the story! I really enjoyed Zach and Jenna, and I even liked her son Sam..although sometimes he was a bit annoying :) But Zach brought the story home! He's quite the hero! I liked how Ms. Perini brought back the Montgomery's. You got a better grip on the family and the history. Yet, you know there's more to come. The story line in Behind the Lies was a good one. You had Intrigue/Romance/Suspense! And the ending sure kept you on the edge of your seat!
I'll be looking forward to the rest of the book in the series. Nick Podehl did a great job narrating. Hope they keep him as the narrator. And you can't beat the price of the audio.
"OK...But Not My Favorite Of The Series!!"
I truly enjoyed the other two books in the series soooo much better, but this one....not so much! It wasn't that it was a bad book. It wasn't. It was that Kalen was just too...I'm good...I'm evil, ...I'll fight...I'll give in, ...I'm alone, I'm not! UGH!
I like that Tyler brings the others back into the story line. Familiar "faces" if you will. I just didn't connect with Kalen and Mac like I did the other couples in the first two books. Sometimes that happens in a series. For some reason one person loves it, and yet, another one doesn't. That happened to me on this one.
"A WONDERFUL SERIES!"
First let me say, I'm a great fan of Maya Banks. I enjoy her writing. She really takes you through each emotion the characters have. You feel their angst and their joy, and included is a good story. Highlander Most Wanted did not disappoint my expectations. I felt sooo much for both Bowen and Genevieve. What Genevieve went through was beyond comprehension. Yet, with Bowen's love and understanding, she overcame it. Sometimes when we read these romance stories, we can't think too much on that fact that they don't quite make sense on some issues. Otherwise, we'd never read them again. :) For me, Highlander Most Wanted was a wonderfully written romance! Looking forward to the third in the series.
"LOVING THIS SERIES!!"
This is the 2nd Installment, and I'm just LOVING this series. For me..I know it's good when you "FEEL" the characters. Their emotion...their passion! WOW! It's got a good story line. One that keeps you interested and enthralled. I like the banter! The one liners just keep you smiling! You find yourself completely immersed in Dante and Jamie's relationship. They're passion is explicitly amazing. Dante is the Beta of the pack and Jamie is struggling with her wolf issues. I enjoyed how they came together and worked through it. I can't wait for the 3rd book in the series.
"ADRIAN DOES IT AGAIN!"
Everyone has alread said it, but I must add my little voice. :) This new installment of the Midnight Breed is fabulous. I was wondering how Lara was going to continue the series after book 10...How silly of me to even question that. Her ability to write such indepth story lines is Amazing!!! The character development...the way the kids of our favorite breeds are grown up and now playing major parts in the series...blew me away!! I'm loving how she brought back the main characters again...Lucan...Nikolai...Renata...Gideon...etc. I can't wait for the next book!!
"Good Story....So So Narrator"
I enjoyed the story. There weren't any surprises. A typical story we've all probably heard one time or another. I liked Reid and Lucie. The only problem I had, was with the narrator. For me, I think I would have enjoyed the story even better if I'd read it. It's not that she was terrible. It's that her inflection was flat. Too "non-emotional" for my liking. Like many of us have felt before, the audio book is as good as the narrator. If the narration is lacking, it ruins the experience for us.
"Delightfully, Cute and Charming!!"
I've been enjoying all of Julie James' FBI/US Attorney books, and thought I'd give this singlet a chance. It did not disappoint. The chemistry/banter/charm/humor between Jason and Taylor was adorable. I found myself totally enjoying this book. I walked away refreshed. It was just one of those uplifting fun books.
"Erotica...HOT...and Soooo Much More!"
This, for me, was a great find! Yes, it's erotic, but it's sooo much more! The author pulls you into the story and characters. You find yourself wanting to know all about them. Todd and Erin's relationship is solid and intense. You feel their connection from the beginning. It's deep, and it's unshakable. What Erin went through prior to her and Todd reconnecting is earth shattering. It's wonderful how they work through it.
Knowing how strong their relationship is, this allows the addition of Todd's best friend, Ben, to be part of their relationship without a hitch. Sigh! I truly enjoyed how the author took us through this! You came to understand how each person handled it, and what the expection in the relationship was to be!
It's not just a sex story. And boy does it have that...a little BDSM and a menage that happens in the middle of the story ! But it's well written. You're taken through their emotions, passions, and how they're feeling! And one of the most important things I found to be.. it's done without all the dang drama. The couples talk...really talk through things. That was refreshing. You didn 't have all the angst found in so many romance stories. All the players were pretty straight forward in their communication.
I look forward to the second book when it comes out "Coming Undone". Brody will be the lead.
"Who picks the narrators?"
I have read all the Deadly Series Books, and was excited when it came on audio. I really ejoy Cynthia Eden's writing, and the suspense and romance in her stories are very good.. It's a good, enjoyable series!!!
HOWEVER, Justine Eyre made the story hard to follow. Her tone was off. You're brain hurt trying to focus. It needed someone who could do masculine voices better. It wasn't a good fit. The good news is, for me, the story held its own and I was able to overlook her narration.
