The Male narrator was unimaginative. He very clearly read every word and was definitely not believable. The female was better, changing her voice appropriately for the different characters. There was an actual difference in the volume between the male and female narrator. It was very noticeable from the very beginning of the book.
I've been a Catherine Coulter Fan for years, and if I had read the book I would have enjoyed it. The story was good, and during those times that I could overlook the bad performance, I loved it.
I have to be honest, I purchased this audio book because it was cheap, but I listened because it caught my imagination. Sometimes you want a book that keeps you entertained, keeps you wanting to come back for more, and makes you smile. I loves the characters. They were likable and basically made me want to know them. I've now read most of the books and still like Abby.
It would have been better if it was unabridged and had a different narrator. This book was too short to be worth the credit. I think I will skip the #6 which is also an abridged version narrated by the same person.
I will continue to listen to this book series as long as it is a different narrator. They are great to walk to.
It was hard to tell the difference between the characters in the book the way they were read. Also she did a lot of stepping over her own words....very unclear.
disappointment in the narration, and anger that I wasted a credit.
