The narrator did an amazing job at bringing the story to life and keeping it engaging. The story itself is also amazing. This was the first time I have read Dracula, and I can see why it is such a classic. I listen to audiobooks when I go running, and this week I've been looking for excuses to work out!
Brilliant writing, beautiful and stark storyline, great narration.
This was a good, pretty engrossing read, but it was definately not one of my favorite audiobooks. It could have been that my expectations were too high (given the effuse praise on this site), or that I have been listening to almost solely the classics, but I found that The Help lacked some depth and could not always sustain my interest. If I could recommend other books which are both engaging and have more substance I'd suggest Atlas Shrugged, The Count of Monte Cristo, or Kafka on the Shore.
I have listened to quite a few audiobooks, and this is without a doubt my favorite! This is the first Murakami novel I have "read", and I really enjoyed it. Murakami is an enthralling story teller, and I love how he is able to blur the line between reality and fantasy. The narration was superb and really fit with the story. My only complaint about the novel is a general problem I have with Murakami's works - the endings are not always tied up very well..
I think that the narration for this audiobook was excellent-I find that this narrator's voice fits well with Rand's works.
In terms of content-it's really good. However, I listened to it after having listened to Atlas Shrugged, and found that the Fountainhead seemed quite unoriginal and predictable compared to it. So, if you've never read a book by Rand before I'd really recommend Atlas Shrugged (with the same narrator).
A great book presented by an amazing narrator - highly enjoyable!
