A great story of being the odd man out. How a Native American boy set his mind on getting a good education and what he learned from the experience. Great for high school kids.
A great testament of the human spirit. How the people of the dust bowl survived or didn't through the great depression. I was enthralled by the various stories and got a glimpse of what it is like to survive and persevere through hardship.
Informational, sometimes boring. Would be better read than listened to.
Wow that was depressing.
The story was well written and kept me interested although it started out a little slow. I found parts of this book to be very exciting and interesting and then other parts a struggle to get through. I don't feel the graphic rape scenes were necessary and could have been toned down to get the point across. Sometimes less is more
