I got this book thinking that I would learn some quick meditations I could use throughout the day and some insight into being more present in the moment. I received much more than this. I learned not only some simple meditations and how to do them throughout the day. I also learned more about Buddhism than had been explained to me at any point in time. Here I learned that Buddhism doesn’t provide us with the ultimate divinity to make things better for us. Instead it provides us with the mental software to make things better for ourselves and others. I can also see why after finishing this book that Buddhism has been called the best free psychotherapy because it teaches empowerment. It is/may be the ultimate self development program. Through Buddhism we learn external events can’t make you happy. Remember Buddhism doesn’t like blind faith. If it doesn't work for you then find something that does. I was reminded why so many people don't like meditation and why my teacher kept telling people they had to practice more than 20 minutes a week. See
meditation is like learning to play the piano you have to own it to learn it. Consistency is key is the key to learn anything.
Buddhism explains what Albert Einstein meant when he said, 'Reality is an illusion all be it a persistent one.'
I like this book and will look at more of his books on meditation.
I finished the Power of Now and jumped right into this book. I like that Deepak talks about letting go of all your inhibitions and just let love flow. For many of us we get into relationships and at first they’re fast and furious. It’s all good, but then we get married and we let our Ego’s get in the way. Read this book to learn how to get past your Ego and just enjoy your partner.
Years ago I was going to all kinds of retreats trying to find myself. I was also doing work where I was looking for the same thing. Then one day when someone invited me to another retreat I said ‘no’ because a little voice inside me said I didn't get what I was looking for from the others what will make this one different. I didn't understand then, but I do know. Here Eckhart Tolle gives us this answer and that is if the same thing isn't working try something new and I did! I also got the results I was looking for!
I’ve read a hundred books on the subject of self improvements and this is the first one that talks of woman and why we as men look down on them when we should be looking up to them or realizing the truth concerning women.
I recommend this book as I've found practicing the simplest suggestion contained here has helped improve my life.
I used the lessons here to deal with bad habits I've been trying to get over for years. By going through the steps in this book you will learn to get rid of any ‘addiction’ and a bad habit is an ‘addiction’. You will also get a history that is taught at all AA/NA meetings. It is important to understand the history of how we came to the current ways to free people from addictions of any kind. Just remember that this is not an easy path as your addictions will fight back to keep where they are.
Here we have the two authors talking about the power of intuition on a very low level. If they would have had more time I think they would have delved much deeper into it. With reading this book you will get enough to start to trust your intuition. If you follow the basic steps given here you will continue to grow your intuition and it will help you over time
Here the author goes through the steps and process of creating affluence in your life. Creating affluence is more than ‘wealth’ in terms of money and possessions. It also means abundance and plenty which all flow from the Universe.
You will learn to watch your thinking and manifest into your life that which you want and how to get rid of what you don’t want. You won't be able to simply discard what you don't want anymore, you must face it. This book will help you immensely.
After we die our souls or ‘higher selves’ go on to another life. There is plenty of evidence of this from children being able to tell people of places and events they could never have seen or been part of. To using facial recognition technologies on photo from the past 200 years.
Here Deepak and Shakti talk about how we are here to help each other and why were here to help each other. Once you stop looking at you’re here one time and gone and start looking at this life as one lesson in a series to you begin to understand the soul and relationships.
Here we have two people point out what was proven with the War of the Worlds, ‘We see this world through our perceptions’. When War of the Worlds was first read over the radio 1% of the population caused panic across this nation.
Here we learn what the Buddha and then Jesus told us, ‘Live outside your perceptions’. Deepak and Wayne walk us through how to stop living by limits we impose and the world around us imposes. Once you've completed this book and applied it you will join those of us working on reaching critical mass to change the world by removing the limits being imposed on us.
Here is a condensed version of a much longer book that you can’t get anymore from the publisher. I used this book as a ‘developing the leader within you’ refresher course. I would normally have to listen to 6 books to get what is contained in this one book, but here is a condensed version of all those books in one place. I found the book reminded me of something’s I’d forgotten or let slip through the cracks. Spend some time and go through it and it will refresh your memory as well to develop the leader within you.
Here Deepak Chopra answers questions from individuals who ask for help in relationships. For those of us that have been in long term or long lasting relationships this book will help. I warn you that Deepak doesn’t pull any punches. He tells you like it is and is very honest. When reading this book you’ll see how Deepak Chopra deals with some very difficult situations that many of us find ourselves in, but rather than dealing with them we’ll walk away. Walking away doesn’t deal with the situation or the core issue. All it does is make it worse or hides it until it can surface later when we least expect it. Take some free advice and keep an open mind while listening to this book. Listen to what other people are saying and learn from them and you’ll be grateful you did.
I have been going through and listening to all the classics that have been made into movies. Here is another example where the book is thousands of time better than any movie. In the movies they leave, so much out that it actually ruins the story now that I’ve read the book. Here you will read a story that takes you into the mind of dog before people were even considering dog psychology. You will journey through the gold rush through the eyes and thoughts of Bucks and when it’s done you’ll love the story. I recommend this for parents of kids interesting in reading it to their kids.
