Julia goes through her life and what led to her decision to laugh at God. My advice is if your not ready to see the wizard behind the curtain then stay away. If you want a look at life differently then this is for you.
Here is another great story by Isaac Asimov that goes along with the ‘Caves of Steel’ series. I can also see why Gene Roddenberry consulted him regarding Star Trek.
The story is a straightforward one where a young man is almost killed and begin his adventure. From there the story follows the character through synchronicity events until ultimately the end. In some ways this story reminds me of the ‘Mote In God’s Eye’. I won’t ruin it for you, but like ‘Robots of Dawn’ it will keep you guessing to the very end.
I’ve read so many books on our shadow selves. Here the author takes his own book about realizing your shadow self and takes it to on eliminating the shadow self. There are, so many books on this subject and because we don’t have decades to meditate as the Buddhist do we need to read books. While reading this book I started to see and apply the lessons from the book ‘The Five Elements of Effective Thinking’.
If you want to help yourself in every area in your life then this book will get you started. Remember that this is a journey and your are a ‘Do it yourself project’ . Only you can keep moving yourself forward and only you can decide to keep going. You will have many teachers and lessons along the way. Here is one that will help you.
I grew up watching Star Trek and I never knew the backstory behind Spock or any other character. All I knew was that Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner hated each other or that is what people said. The truth is that neither hated each other. If you read this book you’ll see this and if you read what people who worked on Star Trek said. They say that what is here is as close to the truth as we can get.
If you want to know how Spock came to be and how he led to Data later you need to read this book. The biggest thing I got from this book was what I’ve read in many books: decided what you want! Once you know what you want you need to keep working on it even when you think it’s complete. For me this book tells me that synchronicity is greatest force in your life if you're open to it. By following synchronicity will keep you open to many idea’s and will help lead you forward.
For those of you that have read John C. Maxwell’s book Failing Forward you’ll find this the perfect complementary book to go along with it. I like the five steps they come up with here and I see how they tie in with the books ‘Eat that frog’ and ‘Flight Plan’.
As I listened to this book I see how it applies to my life right now. I’ve been working on a business idea that I come up with an idea and then I set it aside where later I will look at it again. Here I will change what I originally came up with and it’s better. By the time I trademarked it and put in my patents I got through without issues.
By going through the steps in this book I have begun to further develop my business idea’s. Now on my next idea I just put something down and look at it for what’s wrong then I change it.
I really can’t tell you more without ruining it. You need to approach this book with an open mind and with the willingness to change what you perceive as the only way to do something. If you drop these preconceived notions you will learn a lot more and benefit more from reading this book.
Years ago my mother would take notes while reading books to keep track of thoughts as the book progresses. She can figure out how a story ends before anything is revealed by the author. I tried this concerning the Game of Thrones series, but I gave it up. Here are all those notes and it’s in a nice format.
Anyone that loves or just watches/reads the Game of Thrones this book ties all the threads together. Yet, it doesn’t reveal how it ends, but it does give you an idea of how it will end. We are still waiting on the last two books after all.
When the dead sea scrolls were discovered and the translation began there was much fan fair. Now today people believe that these scrolls are just beginning to be translated when they’ve been being translated since 1947. Here the book or scroll of Isaiah is the most complete and gives us the most detailed information. This reminds me of so many other prophecies of the future, but these are more accurate.
In this book we learn that with all prophecies can be changed we just have to change. There is a prophecy of World War III, but this can’t be allowed to happen because this is a time of awakening. All literature from the past show that each time we get to this point War comes and stops it.
You really need to read this book to tie together what all the spiritual sages of our time and the past sages.
Here the author talks you through basic and complex meditations. Unlike other books that talk about the meditations, here they are. At the end of the book the author has put a lot of meditation with each one being labeled for use when you need it. I recommend this book just for these meditations along with the wisdom contained with it. I would also recommend that the publisher include a PDF of all meditations be included or people buy the Kindle version to get them rather than searching all over the Internet for them.
Unlike Graham's previous book where there was no opening stated purpose of the book. This book probably because of the second author starts out with a stated purpose. Why are people fighting any in depth studies of the Sphinx? The same is true of all these great works called the seven wonders of the world which is off anyways. I believe there is over a 100 wonders that should be listed. We haven’t even begun to look at what was talked about in the Fingerprints of the Gods and the Source Field Investigations.
The big question is that all books ask that look into the past is: ‘Why are people scared to relook at everything with fresh eyes?’ No one can tell us how any of these great works were done and why we're not talking about the the ones in India, Russia, the US, Africa and throughout Asia. Those in true power must be really scared of the truth which they know will eventually happen no matter what they do.
When I first heard Deepak Chopra I didn’t like what he had to say or like the book at all! Then years later I was led to another of his books by what can be described as ‘Spirit’. I listened and realized that he was teaching the same thing as SO many other authors that people are ignoring. I’ve read Edgar Casey, Mike Dooley, Wayne Dyer, and many more. I’ve did Buddhist training for 7 years and left it because the path wasn’t working for me at that time. Now I understand that we have to do this at times. Like in the book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ and the work of Jack Kornfield you can’t attach to a ‘teacher’ or ‘path’. I read this book and did the exercises and I will keep using the exercises as I move forward, but not as in using dogma.
I’ve enjoyed this book and it would be nice if there was a PDF with all the meditations on it to make it easier to do them later rather than looking them up on the Internet! This would make this book perfect as it is!
I see why Steve Jobs liked this book. Steve wanted to be a spiritual Yogi or leader of people. In many ways he was and he got his wish in some ways. I liked the book learning about India Vedic training in the form of Yogi. The wisdom built into this book goes long with Deepak Chopra's work, Mike Dooley and many others. It’s well worth anyone reading the previous author’s work. I will not ruin it for you, but you should read it. I will say that by the halfway point you will understand why Steve Jobs liked it. Plus you will understand the simple wisdom contained within it. The sound is a little off as it goes loud to quiet quite suddenly.
