I don't really know what I expected from this book. It was okay. Not much action, but a lot of character development. There seemed to be a lot of build up to the actual epidemic. This was not a "scientific" book, but more about how people reacted to the crisis.

Speak up please!I was not so impressed by Morton's performance. I understand why he performed in the manner that he did, but sometimes it was sooo difficult to hear and understand him. His voice was so low in parts. I would have to rewind and turn the volume up a lot to hear him. This was the most frustrating part of the book. And it happened a lot.

All in all the book was okay. I kept hoping for something more...or that events would speed up. It was interesting enough that I wanted to keep listening. I must say that depiction of the main character's family was the most interesting. It was a very close knit family, and the interactions between the parents and the kids were superb. I mean, they were not a "Stepford" family, but the crisis was handled and everyone knew how to conduct themselves. Maybe the author should write a "building better family communication" book. I think listening to the family events were my favorite part of the book.

As with most books made into a movie, this book far surpasses the movie. There is so much fullness, depth and emotion to the book that could never come through in a movie. The narrator was fabulous, the story IS fabulous. The situation that leads to the end is far more complex than the movie.

This is not meant to be a slight on the movie, which I enjoyed very much. This book is a completely different experience...and one I much preferred.

Okay, so usually I don't listen to books of this type. I usually listen to horror and science fiction, with a little fantasy and non-fiction. I usually scoff at books of this nature. In fact, it was an accident that I even downloaded this book. What has happened to me? I was taken in from the beginning...and couldn't stop. And I couldn't believe the...um...feelings the book..um...made me feel. I want my husband to listen to it.

And oh yeah, I could probably listen to Robert Petkoff read a dictionary...if he read the way he read this book. :-)

Run is one of those stories where you wonder if the horror will ever end. These people really went through hell. The book kept me on the edge of my seat and was absolutely thrilling! The ending was a twist that I didn't expect. I like the way the book wrapped up. Very satisfying.

This book is on the same level as all of the Iron Druid books. They are always exciting and fulfilling to listen to. A great mix of action, humor, and the plot is never boring. I have listened to all of the Iron Druid books and I have always been pleased.

The fight the Morrigan was in.

It is a toss up between Atticus and Oberon. I love them both!!

All the characters were equally great...however Bub had some of the best lines.

Yes, and he is one of my favorite narrators. In fact, the main reason I tried this book is because of him. I had never heard of the author.

Yes, but not in a nice way. When the baby attacked I thought the woman got what she deserved. She was totally bonkers.

This book was so extra creepy and gory. Not for the faint of heart. That said, sometimes I just need to listen to something like this and it fit the bill exactly.

Yes, I would listen again. The book is very long and exciting. I am sure another listen would only enhance the experience. There were parts that gave me the heebie-jeebies, but I continued to listen because I just had to know what happened.

I would compare this book to The Stand by Stephen King.

His performance was exquisite! Part of the magic of the book is his performance. The characters were easy to remember, and the way he brought the emotions to life, and the horrors...well he is definitely one of my top 5 narrators now.

I might. The story was far too tedious for me. I just didn't care about the characters enough. I could tell that the author is talented, however something was just....missing. I don't feel that I am even interested in the next book of the series. I rely greatly on the reviews by Audible customers, but this is one time I did not agree.

Ray Porter is a mighty fine narrator. He was the best thing about the book. It was easy to differentiate between the characters, so any one of them was good.

I would definately recommend this audiobook. There is a lot of humor, a lot of horror and a lot that can make you think. I thought the ending tied things up nicely. However, in my own opinion there were a few parts that were very difficult to listen to, I almost wanted to fast forward past them. This is one of those books that point out that the true monsters are people. And sometimes circumstances can change you drastically.

The main character was my favorite. I liked him and felt his pain.

Yes. The story horrified me. At times I was totally disgusted by the thoughts the characters were having, and events that were occurring. But there were also scenes that were very funny also. I think I experienced just about every emotion with this audiobook.

I listened to Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill and really enjoyed it. It was the kind of spooky horror I expected. This book was not what I expected, and showed me a different kind of horror. Based on my comments above it may not appear that I enjoyed the book, but I did enjoy it so much. I became invested in the story and the characters. The book was very good at pointing out the evil that people do, and I didn't expect it to affect me the way it did. I kept thinking you never know the real person inside, you never know what people are hiding behind the lovely mask. In a way it is a very powerful book. I couldn't stop listening, even when I wanted to.

Read the first book. This one continues the thrill and action. It is so worth the listen and the credit! Joe Ledger is one of the greatest characters I have come across in a long time.
