Cannot pass the first 2 hours. The story is too detailed and extremely boring. The reader has heavy accent and annoying monotone. I could never focus on this story for continuous 20 seconds.
Listened for 3 hours, started from the beginning again, and listened for another 5 hours... too bored to continue.
After about 5 hours' listening, the story still hasn't gone anywhere. I read other reviews, and some said it only starts to get interesting half way through, which means after 10 hours, so I just gave up...
Everything seems being put together by the author conveniently. The interesting and different worlds that the author described in the previous books ended in this book with a pretty cliched fairy tale.
However, unlike the other books, this book does have a very clear end, guessing the author just run out of steam to imagine some innovative evils.
The poetically and beautifully written book told a brutal story experienced by the Cambodian Royal family through the eyes of the little princess. Since it's written based on real life experience, the cruelty of the reality is like the worst nightmare one could ever have. It's also inspiring that for the princess and her loving and strong mother, going through all the unimaginable hardship, they still could find their hope somewhere.
One of the best books I have read. Couldn't stop listening. Highly recommend it.
Very valuable lessons. I think many modern day inspiration books have copies the ideas from here. Never expiring.
Too much preaching as always. However, the story of this book is not as interesting as the prior two. Seems the author was just run out of imagination. Too heavy handed for the story, and the characters just dies or survived or being punished any time as needed. The eternal goal of everything is just for everybody to believe in God, whatever happened to them was served to this purpose only.
Good book which is very addictive. Too much preaching though made the pace really slow, and I don't really want to hear this part. But well, it's a bundle, so have to tolerate that. The reader is superb.
Overall, a pretty boring story. The author tried hardly to give it a grand open, but then continued with lengthy descriptions on trivial stuff. Nothing happened actually.
The reader was good. However, the accent he gave was farmer like, and the girls sounded like old guys.
After listening to this audio book, I have learned a lot, and have recommended to many people. I myself don't have cancer, but this book definitely can help to prevent cancer, too. Recently I've learned that he just died 20 years after his brain cancer diagnose, and I couldn't stop tearing up. Thank you for the precious gift you left to everybody!
