I enjoyed the fire between Kellen and Kiera. I could not stand the constant, never ending waivering, indecisive behavior of Kiera. The way this woman messes with this already broken man shows all of Kiera's worst flaws. She had the love of two brilliant and beautiful men but she didn't deserve either one.
I guess I will listen to the next book in the series but only because I am hoping that Kiera grows up a little in the next book.
If I had been the one reading the book, I would have stopped after the first few chapters.
Thoughtless has a follow up book and its a good thing otherwise my opinion of Ms. Stephens would be that this is an amateur writter at best.
Don't waste your credit on this undeniably frustrating book. The thing is, readers have to like the hero or heroine of a story so they stay interested in the storyline. If we don't think they deserve ANY happily ever after...who cares what their ever after is.
"I love you"...,"I love you too, shnookums"..."I love you more!" "No, I wuv YOU more!!" This is the nauseating extent of about 85% of the story. Insta-love followed by enough sugary sweetness to make my teeth hurt. This book is so ridiculous but Ms. Force left us with one hellacious cliff hanger that means I will more than likely suffer through all the cotton candy love in book 3 just so I can see who done it...I'm such a sucker.
The woman narrating Cash and Rachel's story was bad. Painfully bad...her male voices were awful and her gross mispronunciation of nearly every name in the book was incredibly distracting. Do the audio producers not have any sort of editing involved in the process of making these audiobooks? I believe I would make that a priority for the following books in this series. I'm not sure who has final say on the narrators chosen for these specific audiobooks but I think it's fair to say they've dropped the ball on this one. Please bring back the narrator of the previous audio books in this series!! Other than the narrator issue, one can expect the same level of greatness we have come to appreciate from Jamie Begley in the previous books of this series.
Ya, this was one of those books...nothing special. All my books are starting to read the same for some reason. Come on, all of you potential earth changing as we know it, authors...rally your vocabularies :). Readers are hungry. Give us something with substance... Give us something we can really sink our teeth into. Move us!
This book rocked my world. A great start to a new series but be warned, dear listener, this audiobook has a cliffhanger ending that will leave you hanging like none other! It's worth the blue book balls though! Buy it, you'll be glad you did!
The female narrator had only one good character voice and the others were so terrible. The voice she used to portray secondary characters made them sound like they were stereotypical ignorant hillbillies. As far as I could tell, they were not meant to be portrayed in this manner. I typically really enjoy all books written by Nicole Edwards but this one lacked something that all the other books I've read in this series had. I can't quite describe it but if pressed I would say the book lacks passion. It's almost as if all the characters are acting on auto pilot. They are doing what they do because they feel like they are supposed to be doing it...not because they feel an all consuming pull towards the person that completes them. The smexy scenes were all very mechanical too...disappointing.
If I had a dollar for every time this author mentions the exact dimensions of our hero's umhmm, I would be loaded! It became almost laughable near the end and I'm sure that was not the intended reaction. The sex scenes wile scorching hot the first time heard, were very repetitive and therefore fell flat towards the conclusion of the story. Both male and female narrators mispronounced many words but other than these few peeves of mine the book was pretty good. Maybe buy on a sale. Or not...
Ok...this series started out strong and had amazing potential to become one of the greats in its genre, unfortunately it ended on a sour note for me. There are several reasons this conclusion to Ms. Rowe's trilogy did not meet my expectations...first let me say, I get that Jonas and Sarah had a love that changed the way Jonas looked at the world but that doesn't mean that he grew a vagina! He didn't have to lose his man card to come across as completely and totally smitten and in love. He said and did things so cheesy that I caught myself rolling my eyes on more than one occasion. Secondly, the antagonist in the storyline (max and oxana) did not get a fair representation. I feel like there could have been a real story there with tons of conflict, action and mystery to keep the reader on the edge of their seat but Ms. Rowe just skimmed the surface here and also gave us an unbelievable and abrupt ending to the conflict. I was unsatisfied and disappointed. Save your credits and your money.
This book was a real cheese fest with no real storyline at all. To put it simply, I just lost several hours of my life that I will never be able to reclaim. The only thing I can say for this book is that it was consistently bad....the narrator sucked just as much as the storyline. Needless to say, I won't be reading anymore of Ms. Clarke's books, not even if you paid me.
I tried this book based on the only review written for this book thus far. It advised that this book would be good for someone that "likes erotic romances with hot scenes, a strong storyline and interesting characters." I thought that sounded pretty darn close to perfect so I grabbed it up. This book is not at all what I look for in an erotic romance novel. First, there is absolutely no romance involved unless it happens in the last hour of the book. This book is the first book I couldn't force myself to finish. It is filled with sex, which is usually a selling point for me but all of the sex is meaningless. Our curvy heroine has sex with at least 6 men in this book and it vividly describes each scene. Although the heroine claims to feel love for all of these men at the same time, which is naive at best and immature at worst, the reader/listener is left confused as to which man to root for. Who is our curvy, air headed heroine supposed to find her happily ever after with? Is it the guy that cheated on her with her best friend? Could it be the guy that cheated on her with a girl wile he was away for school? Maybe it's the guy that basically raped her wile she was screaming her safe word. Could it be the fun loving twins who think of her as a blow up doll. Are you getting the picture? This book is ridiculous. If you enjoy reading about meaningless sex for over 11 hours than this book is for you, otherwise don't waste your credit or your time.
This book is right up there with 50 shades for me. I think that says it all.
